the criticism from the social media police about drama queen is some of the legitimately most low intelligence stupid stuff i have ever seen.

ok some thoughts on marvel rivals. i think this game is overhyped by former ow or current marvel fans. i think performance wise this game runs very poorly when I have a rtx 4070 and the game still stutters its a bad time. characters will sometimes just teleport because of your display catching up to the servers and it makes aiming really clunky.

the game also suffers from poor map designs that feel either too cluttered or too confusing to navigate through. the big gimmick of this game is to have breakable walls to prevent metas like double shield in overwatch where players will just sit behind a wall and poke from afar. the problem with this game however is that breakable objects are not always obvious. this also leads to some maps not having enough alternative routes. in overwatch for example, most maps will have 3 separate routes to get to the point. this allows players to shoot from different angles and not forced into moving in a giant clutter of killable bodies. in marvel rivals its usually one giant hallway, and then another giant hallway. this makes payload maps kinda a pain in the ass because most of the new players in a f2p game are not gonna know where to hold and where checkpoints start. there have been many games I had on payload where a team will just ignore the payload and then lose because they didn't know it was close to reaching its destination. everything also just kinda looks the same in this giant hallway. some maps will have entire sections that are unnoticed because they are so far from the objective. some maps will feel like 1st point of paris.

characters can feel really good to play. or really clunky. wall climbing for example can just randomly destroy your momentum as your character will get stuck to an object leading to your death. characters just don't have the oomf that overwatch characters have. killing isn't as satisfying and can feel really bad as you explode to the many one shot ults in the game that lack counters at the moment.

i think the 3rd person view is alright. however I think the game should be a little more zoomed in as sometimes it is hard to tell what enemy you are fighting against. for example, I had a match against a yellow and blue captain America and I kept thinking it was wolverine. this can be life or death in a team based shooter where you need to know every single character's looks.

i think the biggest problem this game has is the lack of feedback while playing. in overwatch the sound designs from the guns, the sound effects from killing, the visual effects, and even the little animations from the characters make you feel amazing. in marvel rivals the crit effect sounds nice. but killing is very lackluster. when you kill someone they kinda just die. it also doesn't help that your character does not have little animations as they are stiff action figures with the goal to kill. healing also doesn't feel that great because of the lack of feedback. there were times where I felt like I was missing every shot but had 12k healing per 10 minutes. i also can never tell when I am low hp or when my ultimate ability is ready. the ultimate is placed on the bottom right side of the screen which is a pretty bad spot to be in. because you have to manually move your eyes all the way from the center to the corner and then back to the middle. this lack of feedback can make it hard to keep track of cooldowns and abilities to punish. for example, a lot of characters in the game can disappear and reappear. and its very quick and quiet. meanwhile in ow, you can keep track of a moiras teleport because of the load swoosh and particle effects it creates.

balance wise I think the time to kill is a little too much. except when you fight venom and he just gains a stupid amount of health with a press of a button. with the slow nature of the game it can feel pretty meh. the game is advertised as a shooter but you can get away with a lot of characters hot dog sized bullets. most characters are pretty aim and click and pretty much have very little falloff damage. this may be a hot take but I think role queue was the greatest thing ever introduced in ow. and playing this game reminded me of the hell that was 5 dps and a mercy.

overall the game is fun turn your brain off casual fun. but I don't think it has staying power.

I get watching Hasan cause he's hot and stuff. But frogan is genuinely just some terminally online twitch mod. 100 viewers isn't bad at all and is like top 1% of streamers. But I hate the twitch networking scene where the only way to get a boost outside of tiktok or YouTube is to be leech.

da makes me very angry. i guess maybe its just the inner boomer in me but being bombarded by fetish stuff and uncensored porn is not what i wanna see when i first open the website. and idk why but they make it actually impossible to see newest deviations. there's no link for it at least for me so how are artists supposed to be noticed?? but anyway when i did figure that out it was just. sad content. obviously some cool stuff in between but a lot of nasty stuff. and idk i try to submit my deviations to groups and stuff but a lot of them are dead or just dont accept anything. so the whole experience is really frustrating. im hoping artfol grows in popularity because tbh i think DA needs to be put out of its misery.

Oh jeez that's awful! It's been a hot sec since I was active but all the layout changes have made it frustrating to navigate, and of course yeah it's very dead these days. fir anyone looking for an alternative to DA you can try pixiv. it is known mainly as a japanese artist site but it entirely has an English version now and is often way easier to get an audience then DA at this point.

to be honest X is probably one of the best places to post your art if you want an audience. maybe certain art communities on reddit especially if you want to make money from your art.

while i feel a true pain in my heart to ever suggest or point anyone to social media it also simply the truth that it has pushed out almost every other online community. DA had become more for established artists or very very VERY specific uh... niches... and other places only become more obscure on from there.

I went to a rural city a few weeks ago and it made me realize how boring modern malls/shopping centres are. This place has been the last bastion for big cd shops, dvds, etc in my state, I saw the last store standing of a franchise I went to a tonne as a kid. It was also full of goths and emos like a near perfect time capsule of the 2000's. It also has one of the highest crime rates in the state so they're really going all in on that authentic 2000's experience.

Yeah most of twitch's audience are like young men who either want a guy to show off their gaming skills, or a girl that they can have pretend to be their girlfriend. Which is why vtubers exist lol
