however, it cannot be understated how much equal good and bad it gave to the internet, considering the media it inspired in so many ex-fans

yeah for real. i never saw her videos on him i should probably watch hopefully hes not worse then i think/remember and makes me never want to think about homestuck again

yeah we used to have that dedicated homestuck topic in idle chatter the original before dark wiped it had like 100 pages lol i did finish it but honestly it was nothing special most notable thing was the end itself in a 9 minute animation which looked pretty nice but like.... idk it lost me after the new kids and by the time we were actually at the end end i feel like it didnt live up to what it was before you didnt really miss out i think

I read it as a teen but fell out after the end of Act 5. Kept trying to reread it and catch up, but I always lost interest at around the same point. Karkat was my favorite. In retrospect I barely remember anything about it, though.

that t shirt is probably my favorite part of the series, it is actually really awesome and has such a cool vibe that is so not necessarily what you're gonna get from the series itself but hey

in any case, homestuck has been on my mind an inordinate amount of time lately

it was time for some homestuck for some reason i dont know if the girl who made those shirts is still around but if she is can you get me a new one danny

i listened to the voxus readthrough of it a couple of months ago bc i cant get myself to read comics consistently. the readthrough is incomplete but i thought it was ok. didnt shatter my world or anything. from what i gathered, a lot of the popularity comes from the fanbase at the height of its release. i think i would have enjoyed it more if i'd read it then. enough of my friends have read it and like it that i decided to at least attempt to get a vague sense of it from voxus.

as for favorites... none of the characters resonated with me a lot but i liked rose, the clown guy before certain events, and calliope

^those are pretty good character picks too and yeeeeeeeeah idk if i could say that homestuck will be exactly the same going back to read it without the fanbase at its height because i am in hard disagreement bryan lee o malley when he says its well written and that doesnt at all matter to me its the entertainment value that matters the most i think but when it came to homestuck specifically especially because of its massive word count and frequent updates the experience was kind of a part of it can definitely still be enjoyed by new fans but old fans OVER hype the series and lead you to think its some kind of yeah "world shattering masterpiece" and its just not its a good time i think and that was i thought the point

i vaguely recall people saying itd be longer than the bible if you printed it all out but that might be hearsay

according to wiki-anybodycaneditmeandsaywhatevertheywantandcallitafactaslongastheyhavealinktosometeenagersblogpost-pedia it is 800,000 words long the english bible if you include the old testament the new testament and the apocrypha because every version of the bible is different is counted like this Old Testament : 592,439 words New Testament: 181,253 words Apocrypha : 152,185 words so altogether that is 925,877 words so in the the bibles longest form it is longer then homestuck so whoever told you that is technically incorrect it is worth note that "the bible" is not a book like people think it is it was not written as a book altogether it is a collection of scriptures diaries scrolls and in fact simple letters sent between people combined into the format of a book by the roman catholic church so it was easier to deal with more or less however likewise you can also say that about homestuck its just a bunch of spam a lot of repeated words or phrases and is in no way professionally written to the point i think anyone can put legitimate stock into whatever its word count would be at least to me so conclusion the bible is still technically longer then homestuck but homestuck is in an extremely funny twist of literature very very close

Ah yes, my favourite "you chose the wrong characters to like". My favourites were Equius, Nepeta and Gamzee. Enough said. (i loved it, and its still one of my special interests that rears its head every now and again and I start reading all over again)

lol that does sound like pain.... not actually bad choices though they were all really fun characters and nice to see someone else who still goes back to it! have you read the new stuff at all the epilogues or whatever

so i really didnt pay much attention when VIZ got the rights to homestuck or whatever does anyone know how they handled all of the copyrighted content like all of the references to the saw movies for example i know especially in the older stuff there was a LOT and i doubt they could just get away with including it all but otherwise how did they deal with it i wonder

I've read some of the epilogues, not much. Im hoping my next read through takes me through them and onto HS2, but it depends how long the hyperfixation can last.

yeah homestuck 2........ i literally thought they were about to cancel it after the whole patreon thing went down but apparently they are going to wrap it up still im mixed witht he epilogue drop your thoughts if/wehn you finish i dont really hang with the homestuck fans elsewhere anymore so i have no clue what people think lol

yes when homestuck was hype the most popular thread more or less was the dedicated homestuck one the height of this was like 2010-2012ish or 2013ish i would say because right around then is when it started to lean more to MLP FIM.
