I think the answer is more, they ones you can trust probably aren't bronies anymore I mean, guilty as charged, my days as a pegasister are long gone. I am a Fan of Big Parts of FIM but I don't want to be associated with that fandom name anymore 5char

Current ones? No, probably not.
The ones that watch Mr. Enter is probably the ones you should trust the least. Oddly the least progressive people. Like my Ex.

well what is a brownie because when i hear brownie i think 20-40 year old male who is hijacking a girls television series and probably lacks a real life outside of obsessing over fictional ponies real question

i know this is a joke topic, but right now, my opinion is that it honestly depends. generally i'm a bit skeeved out from bronies because of the horror stories i've heard. i think it's mostly the adult 4chan men that got into fim for "ironic" purposes that creep me out. at this point i feel like the not so creepy ones have either moved on from fim or have just become mature enough to admit that they're furries.
people who were closer to the intended audience age range of fim when it was first airing i usually am less uncomfortable with. they were literally the target audience. also fans from before fim seem pretty chill, but i could be totally wrong. i've never really been in mlp fan spaces, though, so don't take anything i say as 100% fact. this could be an absolutely ****ty and wrong opinion i am having

^i mean thats pretty much what i saw from it when fim became a thing i honestly knew bronies as mostly adult men hijacking mlp and it was super creepy and off to me like im sure the target audience fans are fine or average but i doubt they identify as bronies

I don't mind the bronies that didn't gatekeep girls out of the fandom. Since it's died down a bit, the fandom these days is much better and I've been getting mildly back into it. I was like 11 when MLP Fim aired and heavily into it but some older male bronies would be weird about it or non brony peers/parents would be like "you like ponies and ur that age??" which in hindsight makes no sense SINCE I WAS 11.

so while i did mean the topic as a joke, i appreciate the genuine discussion. it's a joke partly in the sense that i am not informed enough on what defines a "brony" or who identifies as one to make an informed opinion or for my original post to make much sense. i definitely encourage you all to share your genuine thoughts on the topic though.

I was once on a forum (not this one) where one of the only tolerable users was a brony and one of the worst people I've ever known was a brony, so I would have no idea what to say.
Dead serious question, though, does this term refer to both males and females or just males? I've heard both.

Another dead serious question, how do you pronounce it?
To this day, it still comes out for me like BRAHN-ees. Eventually I realized that it was probably supposed to be pronounced like BROH-nees, as I figured it was a combination between the words "bro" and "ponies," because I thought it was supposed to refer to guys who were fans of the series... But it still comes out like BRAHN-ees no matter how hard I try. I have heard other people say BROH-nees since, but... BRAHN-ees. I'm cursed.
