like is tumblr worth having can you have or make any kind of reasonable presence with the thing i know it was the bop like a decade and a half before now but like vs deviant art or twitter or instagram or whatever is it worth putting together a tumblr does anyone here even know or use it i was considering it for some of my stuff because i dont like social media and it felt far enough removed from the other but…………………………..tumblr

I still use Tumblr all the time and I think it's still good. It's definitely way less active than it used to be but it still feels the same as Tumblr always has.

Tumblr is actually still the main site I use because I refuse to use any other kind of social media lol.

^good on you cause im the same i cant deal with social media and all those apps and stuff they all just seem like brainless toxic environments choked up with thousands of ads

Tumblr is usable because you can still find posts on it older than a year; in fact it's common for me to find likes in memes i don't remember making

this is a good point because modern social media moves at 10000+ miles per second and it makes it impossible to backtrack to compound your frustration

yes tumblr is pretty good once you install xkit and properly curate who you follow. the only social media i willingly use.

i honestly though you were were trying to prank me with xkit since i never heard of it lol i do like from the outside the look of tumblr i basically have three choices which were tumblr making a blog though square space or just coding my own but i kind of swore off making web applications anymore last year s o tumblr mighhtttttttr be the one hm

The lack of porn is bad but everyone on tumblr is a jaded 20/30-something so the communists tend to be cool.

I have a tumblr account because it actually seems like the best place to post (non-nsfw) art now.

better than deviant art you think? i have a slight trauma with deviant art so its been off the table for me regardless

yeah i think it's okay. they've added some ad features that are annoying to me. basically you can pay to promote a post. which, like, i get it. i just don't like seeing stuff from people i'm not already following

I occasionally browse it for the pretty pictures, but otherwise I just see it as a place to waste your life on some inane bs that typically wouldn't matter to anyone with an attention span of more than 8 seconds, like most social media. Tbh I've never really tried to build up much of a presence or make any friends with it; don't think it's worth the effort
