Dry hair or Wet hair?

When you take a shower how do you do your hair? Like do you let be wet and wait for it to dry over time or are you one of those mad lads that actually dry their hair to nonsensically soft in like 10 minutes?

I hate wet hair so I dry it off as soon as I get out of the shower.

Usually just shake the towel on my head to dry it as much as i can. i have a lot of hair and it's thick so it never fully dries.

Well, I try not to, just because I hate my hair being wet that much, but it always happens anyway. When you have hair as obnoxious as mine, it's impossible for it to not get at least somewhat wet.

Unless it's really cold or I'm in a hurry, I like letting it air dry. Changes the feeling in the head a little.

My hair is very curly, so I HAVE to style and detangle it when it's wet. Unfortunately and for whatever reason, curly heads have extremely sensitive scalps and hair, so I literally can't blow-dry it even if I wanted to. Heat damages the curls and dries out the scalp (I can't even wash my hair in warm water either! It has to be room temp or cold).

Technically you CAN blow-dry it, but you need a diffuser to do that...and I don't have one lmao. Literally curly hair care is such a convoluted process, but I love my hair too much, so I just learn to deal with it.

Curly, lol. There are just different types of curls or "textures." Wavy is technically curly hair, it just coils/curls differently. You can read more about it here -> https://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types

Once you understand your hair type a lot better, it makes it easier to care for your hair properly. My curls fall under the 3A-3B category, so I shop for hair products that are recommended for my texture (not all the time tho.....because actual good hair products are expensive, especially for curly hair)

mine are around 2a-2b ish??? I think. Scalp is usually ****ing dry because desert life bby. The only thing that seems to fix that is L'Oreal. Like I tried head and shoulders (worked like ass), tea tree mint (also ass), and off brand dandruff shampoos but they don't even remotely work. While L'Oreal at the dollar store be like "Hola" because it's cheaper in spanish and actually fixes up my scalp.

Your scalp is probably dry for, like, numerous reasons since you have curly hair. I don't know your routine so I'm just gonna list off potential reasons based on what you told me and what I used to do:
* You wet your hair with hot/warm water
* You wash your hair too often (it needs to be ONCE a week)
* The shampoo/conditioner you use has sulfates and other chemicals that dry out your scalp
* You use conditioner on your scalp, it should only be your tips.
* Overuse of dandruff shampoos doesn't necessarily dry out your scalp, but it can damage your scalp/hair if you use too much of it. Also, if your flakes aren't clearing out after a day or so of using these shampoos, then it's not dandruff. Again, it's just probably a dried out scalp from harsh chemicals as opposed to bacteria and yeast.

For all who have wavy/curly hair, I highly recommend looking into the Curly Girl Method. It introduces an in-depth guide to taking care of each curly hair type, as well as recommending what products to start with if you're not sure what to buy at first.

Like, I am not a hair professional by any means, but a lot of what I learned came from here.
