Christmas have been officially declared cancelled in my province(Quebec), atleast I have my parents and I do have the gifts I wanted, but I will need to depend on online a lot to compense as discussion and doing fun stuff with parents is kinda limited.

I think it's stupid that everywhere wants to cancel all these holidays but they don't want to stop people from going to super markets in masses or going to fast food places or even political riots...

In my province, about the supermarkets, various stores and malls, they added a rule to shut down all non essential services or even sell them so yes, even Walmart is forced to obey to that. I have no idea what they expect to do with that, all I see so far as result of everything is stores struggling or shutting down permanently.

I wonder if in 2021 we will see riots happening as the economy collapse to finally do something as we can’t live like that forever, the lockdown need to end, it’s unhealthy, there must be a better way to save the world...I refuse to believe that’s the end, if it is I will gladly jump on a starship to flee Earth or isekai myself(with a portal of course)

I hope vaccines have the result we want and covid stop mutating and just die already, it’s lasted long enough and what we need is a cure not a vaccine, if we can treat it, we can save lives and maybe even discover why it leave lasting damage so it can never do so again, ethics be damn right now, saving the world is way more crucial.

Okay, I actually have a lot to say about this, but I'll try to condense it.

1. Protest ≠ Riot.

2. I participated in a couple of BLM protests this summer (so I'm just speaking from my personal experience here), and anyone who wasn't masked up was not allowed to march. They had boxes of extra masks they were passing out to any who didn't have them. We also tried our best to social distance on the road. I have pictures to back it up if anyone wants to see them.

3. Across the board, there is very little evidence that the protests actually contributed to the spread. In my city in particular (New Orleans), we were almost two months past our initial case peak by the time the protests occurred, and there wasn't another significant rise until almost a month later (double the incubation period).

I also think it's super cringe how people will say only one side of the political spectrum isn't taking it seriously. Literally everyone isn't taking it seriously by going on vacations, partying, going to bars, etc. It's so obnoxious
