I mean, you’re not wrong haha. I still don’t like it either.

There’s a balance to making this design appealing. Sometimes the scales are too prominent and look kinda warty, others have a big unibrow and some don’t. Game-wise, I think he’s looked his best in ROH.



At least in the art. Alright, so some of the art. Right amount of puggish. People like their long-snouted boys, though, and I totally understand the gripes with Skylanders Spyro. Quite the redesign. I just really like unusual dragons, and Skylanders has a surplus of short-faced munchkins.

I really like the prototype Spyro toy design. The one that was released was bad and lazy. They couldn't be bothered to paint his claws until the re-release and his face was awful.

I didn't like DOTD on first look with the promotional renders. But the artwork is very nice. He looks alright in game.

Well this did inspire me to make a tier list template of all the Official Spyro models. Since there is a lot and people overlook Skylander models as each game generally has a different model.

Reignited really perfected the Classic design. It's just beautifully done.

It felt like the Twilight Zone for a second to see S&N style ****posting and not notice the thread was moved to Spyro General

i guess it makes more sense over here.

i didnt move it so i assume that one of the mods did.

I was mostly exposed to Legend as a kid so I tend to prefer Legend Spyro and Legend Cynder(Krome design don’t like DOTD), Classic look better with Reignited but he still look good in the original trilogy, I’m weirdly fond of AHT Spyro, help that it look so cute when you do the idle animation to make him sleep, I never liked Skylanders but the design was drastically improved over time since the original beta design and Academy and concept art look really good(though not a fan of red eyes).

I hope 2020 will actually give us a new game as playing a dragon is something I will always miss. I know the Skylanders crowd are not fan of Spyro but lower your pitchforks, it’s normal to want new materials in the IP if like me you write fanfics.

Am I the only one here, who want completely new material in the Spyro IP simply to play a freaking dragon again or at least a similar game? Sigh...guess not...at least I have my fic and the Spyro forum I roleplay on.
