Yeah that seemed pretty obvious, but people thought that it happening was just an event from an NPC we've never seen before and could go either way

But nope, Rudy was part of Undertale all along, we just missed it because it's from the alarm clock that Toby hasn't gotten around to finishing.

Thinkin about lines from Chapter 1 in a new context

The King says, specifically to Kris:

"Silence, lightbringer! Your very existence goes against our own... By the Knight's will, I shall shatter your heart to pieces!"

And we know from Chapter 2 that something about the player Soul gives off an unnatural light to some(Spamton mentions his eyes burning seeing the Soul, and in the japanese version he mentions burning light at the shop). He's the only one that knows the Knight for any extended amount of time yet, as Queen saw them from afar and Spamton gets intercepted if he tries to tell Kris about it. If it's not another character entirely, this honestly supports that the Knight is another entity inside Kris separate from them or us, since if it were Kris as themselves, Spamton wouldn't really word things the way he was starting to; and Kris visibly needs the Soul in one piece as Chapter 2's game over is their actual death.
Also, it's interesting that King is the only one to use Lightbringer instead of Lightner, he seems fully aware that a human soul is needed above the actual heroes to close the fountains.

can you believe the forum's filters don't let me embed this, remove the spaces

It's still not fully clear, but I subscribe to the interpretation of "it's coming for me,answer the phone/I can't explain until you're all alone/it pulls the strings and makes them ring/until your heart turns red hot" which could be a hint that the player truly isn't the original SOUL, but vague enough that we'll need future chapters to know

Doesn't seem like it introduces anything we don't already know, but it could be a hint for us to start looking for hidden messages in future songs...

It's not in the credits, so the best assumption it's Toby Fox himself, he's not the kind of person to not credit a VA. There's also videos with his real voice to see if it's close(I think he's on GDC), but I like thinking he just speaks in TTS.

Important Edit: Ran into the video of pre-Dog Toby Fox by chance. There's like, zero chance he doesn't dub Spamton and Jevil, weird and wacky is literally just his normal voice
Also he repeatedly refers to Chara/Frisk with they/them all the way from 2015 so that's very poggers
