I have a whole rant about the situation, but typing long ranting paragraphs is something I don't have the energy for lately. I was extremely invested and attached to each one of them and when they were active, the spyro community was creatively thriving. Now all we can do is just consume Activision product. Uuuug

I disagree. The fact that fans can express their love for the franchise by using the creativity that the games gave them is genuinely sickening and should result in severe beating, if not worse.

Hey is there anything you want me to bring for the rest of the week and if so it’s so cool that you can do something and just do it like that |

Not surprised that Acti did cease and desist, but also upset that it did happen. Like had 1 creator of a fan game kept creation on a down low instead of getting themselves into **** with the community and managing to get his game in a I believe popular magazine, maybe we'd actually get a fan game. Or so I think, maybe Activision was aware of it for a long ass time.

I didn't know there was a Spyro fangame community but I don't get why companies like that and Nintendo aren't chill about it like SEGA. Granted SEGA can't make their own good Sonic games, but Activision isn't making any new Spyro games to speak of anyway...

From what I understand, it's just basically like free advertising for the character. Much like youtube playthroughs, I think it gets people attached to the character. They're more likely to buy merch and other stuff if they're attached.
And I mean, what do you do when you've burned through all the official games you can find? You play fangames until there are more! I think I'm just personally wanting MORE quality Spyro content :/

This is specially weird because it's what I expect from Japanese companies, which tend to be more conservative with their IP and not like the idea of let's plays/uploading soundtracks/fan games/etc.
Guess Activision's **** 'cause they want to.

Activision lets us create fan art, fan fiction, fan comics, fan zines, fan merch including plushies ... a lot of which are being sold to the general public (and the plushies can go for a real high price too) ... but they draw the line at absolutely free to play fan games.

Don't worry to much. Despite what r/Spyro vets want to perpetuate, it's highly likely the developers canned the whole project after some thought, after their promise to not to do so otherwise. Why bother releasing something that you put sleepless nights into after years of work when it will be immediately flagged for deletion by Activision? It's sad but reality
