Meanwhile Shade had by now returned to his spot on the ship. He looked out to the sea ideep in thought. Like why was Laszur playing fetch with him? Why let him play in the water? Was it because he wanted to or was it apart of his training. He felt like someone had changed Laszurs ways but he didn’t think too much about it.

Back at Redwater, Huntress was once again taking bounty hunting jobs after accumulating hours of voluntary work with the behemoths. The jobs were so few given the current predicament, but some still emerged. However, they would all be thedious, such as pest control, weed removal and such. No exitement or usefulness for Huntress, and the pay was bad, but she did it just so she could keep herself distracted. She was hoping a more exiting job, but above all, one that could help her find out more about the Silvianestri.

Name: Tyraika
Age: 20 Species: Golden Tiger Dragon Good or evil: Neutral Appearance: https://sta.sh/02dy6s5sv0yc Tyraika is about 6'5 in height, with a sleekly muscular body. She looks like she has a good balance of speed and power. She has a mostly short, but thick, protective fur coat. Her fur appears longer in some places, due to her white, fluffy mane. Her wings are bat-like. Her horns have a rough texture to them, and they regrow if they ever break off. Her shoulder spikes are similar to her horns, but she can shorten and retract them as she pleases. When retracted, her spikes aren't visible or felt through her fur. They're usually hidden, outside of combat. She has big, cat-like paws, with retractable claws, and soft paw pads for walking silently. Her tail piece is sharp like a blade. Personally: Tyraika is a solitary, independent hunter. She is primarily focused on her own survival. She is intelligent enough to know not to be rash with her actions. She won't pick unnecessary fights, preferring to focus her energy towards more important things, like her next meal. Weapons: Teeth, claws, horns, spikes, and tail. Elements: Fire and Electric History: Tyraika was born in the wild, somewhere in the archipelago. In her youth, she lived on one of the islands with her family, learning how to survive from them. Her parents taught her everything she knows, and she used to practice her hunting and fighting skills on her siblings. When she became of age, it was time to leave the nest. She and her siblings set off on their own, each going their own way to find a home of their own. Tyraika claimed one of the other islands as her home, essentially becoming the protector of it, and preventing people from settling there. She hasn't really seen any of her family since she set off on her own, and doesn't know of their current lives or whereabouts.

Kasidra gave a thoughtful "hmm" upon hearing this information. So they were looking for a Guardian and two fur dragons. She thought back to the shipwreck she had endured. She could've swore she thought she saw something flying in the sky just as the storm seemed to get worse. It was hard to get a good look at it through all the chaos that was happening at the time, but it did look vaguely like a dragon, from what she could see anyway. Perhaps this was a clue? "I think... I might have seen something like that before the shipwreck, like some kind of dragon-like creature. Although, it was hard to tell through the storm." She nodded in understanding at the rest. "Well, I can help you deal with the threats, sir. I don't know if I have any useful information for you, aside from what I might have seen, but I'll do my best to help." Kasidra wasn't sure if she needed to ask anything else. She felt she had at least the basic understanding of what her job was supposed to be, and that was enough for her.

Latnok followed the older man as requested, listening to the conversation between Chester and Rofus as he did so. "So how long have you been in the hunting business?" Latnok asked the hunter. "Hunting here seems like it'd be a bit of a challenge, what with all of the odd creatures around." From what Latnok knew, the island wildlife was considerably less friendly than typical areas - but that didn't seem to deter the inhabitants.
"All in due time," the mysterious person said. "What it is time for, however, is for me to show you something - a very sacred area to us. And, for now - you may call me Shepherd, though my true name is not necessary or important to you at the moment." Shepherd would lead the way through what started as a bland cave, like the ones the group had seen so many times before - soon, however, it would transition into a well-decorated passageway, with carved-out walls, fancy blue and purple tiles, and light from sun crystals embedded in the wall. Before long, a turn would reveal an absolutely magnificent room. The room had the same tiles throughout, and was incredibly spacious - the ceiling being so high that it seemed impossible for such a place to have been designed by hand. Throughout the room, four obelisks were set up, with granite structures and a large diamond embedded in the center of each one. In the middle of the room was a large, raised platform, with a lengthy staircase leading up to it for several yards. Though it would be hard to see from Angora's position, a symbol was faintly etched in the middle - an insignia with a face which was humanoid on the left and insectoid on the right. "Is that all, then?" Sere asked the new hire. "If that is all you need, then just sign the contract and hand it back to me. The crew is currently on leave for today, and maybe tomorrow depending on how things pan out - so you are free to do whatever you wish for now." Sere waited patiently for the contract to be handed back, though he was still open for more questions. Ilasi's disappointment faded somewhat with Maverick's suggestion. "Yes, that would be lovely, wouldn't it!" she answered. She knew they still had a job to do around here - but while they were here, Ilasi wouldn't mind a chance to take in the local culture. Why, she was even wondering what sorts of events they might have for couples.

"Perfecto. It's a deal then. Can't wait to be back, with the necessary precaution of course." Maverick replied, taking the blacksmith's suggestion by heart. Night was approaching, so Maverick suggested they should accelerate their pace. The sky was clear for now, so there was no risk of Ilasi transforming. That could delay them considerably. As they walked, Maverick spotted a small cave a few yards away, but he ignored it, remembering what the blacksmith said, and continued walking along with his girlfriend through the thick island foliage.

Angora nodded after hearing his name, being very appropriate for him after everything he's been doing. All this time, she has been calling him names like the stranger of the orb and such, so she was glad she could finally addressed him appropriately. She followed him around the corridors, being mesmerized as soon as they entered the humongous room, it's size almost looking like it could harbor a behemoth. The ceiling was as large as a skyscraper. Just how far underground this mysterious guide and his society lived? While she was still nervous, she wasn't as uneasy as before. "This... this is very beautiful Mr. Shepherd. A perfect place to take a rest from all the troubles of the surface." Angora complimented, though after finishing the comment, wondered if he would understand what she meant. She's had an awful time on the ship with Sere and some of his team, so being here was quite relaxing despite her lingering nerves. For this stranger to trust her with such knowledge and being so open to help her, it was a very nice feeling.

Kasidra nodded, "yeah, I'm good." She signed the contract and handed it back to the captain. She stood up to take her leave and gave a slight bow of her head. "Thank you for this opportunity, captain." With that said, Kasidra stepped out of the room. She made her way back through the corridors, uncertain of what she wanted to do for today. She mainly just wanted to leave the island already, but she knew she couldn't do that on her own, so she'd have to wait until the captain gave the order.

Back at the shore, a lone merman could be seen swimming out and crawling onto the sand - with many fish, both large and small and of myriad species (some unidentifiable), being carried in what almost looked like a trawling net.
Leoquin had spent the entire day hunting fish. Though he didn't quite find anything like a shark - at least not today - he was able to hunt down or trap other kinds of fish, some with what seemed like claws, some with multiple pairs of eyes, and many other variations on what one would typically call a "fish." Though disappointed with the lack of anything majorly challenging, he was satisfied overall with his haul. Moving it through land would be a bit tiring, but he was going to drag it however he had to. "Shepherd is not my proper name, so there is no need to attach any honorifics," Shepherd corrected Angora. "It is simply the name you may call me by. Though I could be considered a leader of this movement, this is a goal for the good of all - and my position, being only a means to an end in that regard, is not one where I must be given particular reverence. Thus, my name is not something which must necessarily be revealed until such a point where our goals are close to realization." Shepherd walked up the platform, leading Angora along. "Yes, this pace offers respite - it is where we are at our most powerful. The Hall of Mortals - that is the name of this room. It is here that we are at our most powerful. This is our most sacred ground. Now, we have one request of you - it will go a long way towards setting the stage for a new world." Shepherd paused a moment to give Angora a chance to think about what he would say next. "We need you to call Orion here for an audience with us. His presence here will allow us to set the stage for the new world. He is deeply attached to you, is he not? We need only to speak to him here." As the two walked through the foliage, Ilasi was on high alert, hearing tales of what the tongueans had inflicted recently. She nervously played around with a small ball of water she had condensed within her hands, moving it back and forth between her fingers. "So... nothing bad is going to happen to us here... right?" Ilasi asked Maverick, very unsure. As far out as she has had to go,she was not used to being well outside Aelinon's protection, and without the ship there, she was extremely uneasy.

Angora lowered her ears, not sure if she liked what she was hearing. Was that the reason she was brought there? To summon Orion? They couldn't do it themselves not even with their power?
"Orion? Him? Eh... well sir, Shepherd, I'm not sure if he'll come. I mean, the Galaxy Dragon has spoken to me and I've seen him several times, and he trusts me, but he only appears at desperate times. I've been through many hardships without him interfering unless absolutely necessary. He's a very busy deity and I don't like to bother him. If... well, unless it's very urgent?" Angora asked, not wanting to deny Shepherd her request after everything he has done for her, but not guaranteeing him he'll listen. Orion entrusted her with a mission before, and he has communicated with her a few times, but like any proper deity, he only physically appears when there is no other choice, and coming to do something as simple as speaking with these men may not be his idea of urgent. Unless Neo helped her? Maverick and Ilasi continued moving forward without delays, with Maverick hearing the shore at the distance. "Well Ilasi. No danger at all, huh? I guess we were lucky..." but Maverick spoke too soon. Above Ilasi, there was what looked like a python with very tiny wings, wrapped around a branch and lunging at her with jaws wide open. Maverick gasped, having no time to react... when a tongue wrapped around the attacking snake's neck. Besides them, a tonguean, though unlike the dark green one that attacked him, this was a pretty cerulean color. It devoured the struggling snake head first, making it look very easy. It then glanced at the couple for what looked like minutes... then turned around and left, not using any camouflage so that the two of them could see it was leaving and not stalking them. "Diantres... that was... whew. Are you alright Ilasi? I think that igua... I mean tonguean, saved your life. I don't think it meant to, but you did. That snake came out of nowhere." Maverick said, his face shining with sweat. He really received a tremendous fright.

Shepherd showed little signs of concern in what was visible of his face. "If he does not answer, then that is not something you need worry about, child," he said. "His presence would be most useful - in the end, however, it would simply expedite the process. You may try calling him; and if he does not answer, we will move on. There is still much for us to do, child." Shepherd remained polite and open as ever, showing that he still valued Angora even if she couldn't summon Orion.
Ilasi panicked, attempting to summon a quick wall of water like she did with Shade; without much water condensed beforehand, however, there was only an impotent bubble between her and the snake. The problem, however, would soon cease without any further action on their part. It would appear that nature had intervened on their behalf, with the tonguean devouring the attacking snake. Ilasi could only stare as the snake soon disappeared without a trace, with the creature looking at them for a few moments. "Nature is as vicious as ever..." she said, recovering from the great scare she just had. What would they do to prevent close calls in the future?

Angora was both surprised and relieved that Shepherd was still being so remarkably patient with her. Maverick, and to an extent Shade, were the only individuals who ever showed her such amount of patience, so this was taking some time getting use to.
"I'll... I'll try sir. I'll really do." Angora replied, not certain Orion would answer. While she was appreciative of Shepherd's help, she still considered the tiny bit of possibility that he was only using her to get to the Galaxy Dragon. However, she was going to let the deity be the judge of that. She went deep in thought, and started speaking with her mind. "Orion? Galaxy Dragon? Long time no see, eh? When was the last time? With the White Shadow? Anyway, I know I don't ask you many favors, and I don't know if you can hear me from so underground, but do you think you can meet with this Shepherd man? He helped me once before. I owe him. Neo, help me out here too." Angora said telepathically, not forgetting about the spirit residing within her, and the strong connection he had with the Guardian. He was his best chance to get the celestial dragon to answer her. Maverick wiped the sweat with his forearm, needing a moment to compose himself. "Well, this is part of Falcon's Beak, isn't it? Many bizzare things happen. The wildlife here isn't the same as other places. You... we were lucky this time, but let's not push our luck. Come on, let's go to the ship before some giant creature's stomach ends up in our future." Maverick commented, grabbing Ilasi's hand and not letting her out of his sight. The ship was close, but being that close and they still got a close call. They were lucky the tonguean was around. Or the snake? Maverick didn't know if the tonguean ignored them because it was more docile than the one that stalked her or simply because it was full, but he wasn't going to stay there to find out.

”Don’t worry young Angora I will meet this Shepherd. However I cannot physically meet them for my physical presence is needed elsewhere in the Galaxy. But that doesn’t mean I cannot send one of my communication Crystals to talk to them. Tell him his request is granted but unfortunately I cannot be there in person.” Orion said.

Angora believed it was a smart move on his part. Shepherd was a stranger to him, so a physical appearance could be a little risky. Angora thanked Orion, very happy that he decided to reply to her despite how busy he must be as a deity, and proceeded to tell her host the news.
"Orion... he will talk to you. Just not in person. He's busy elsewhere, but he'll send a communication crystal to talk to you..." Angora informed, hoping Shepherd would be pleased with the news. He only needed to communicate with Orion, so a physical appearance wasn't necessary, was it? As Angora waited for Shepherd to give his opinion, she wondered if Neo was still awake. He has been silence for so long, she sometimes even forgot he was there. He said he would remain with her until the day she died, so he had to be there, maybe even being a witness to everything that was going on...

Kasidra made her way out onto the deck of the ship, gazing out at the horizon. She lowered her hood and felt the cool ocean breeze on her face. She wondered how long it would be before she could finally leave this island. Would it be another day or sooner? It all depended on what the captain wanted. Kasidra sighed. If only she had the ability to make it off the island on her own. She wouldn't have needed to wait this long at all, or for travelers to show up here. Oh well, at least she had made some progress in getting off the island now. All she had to do now was wait for departure.

Shepherd gave a quick standing bow to the image of Orion. "Greetings, Galaxy Dragon," he started. "We have an ambitious goal - making a world where all can live in harmony, and where none would ever habe to want for anything. We would appreciate your assistance in the matter." As Shepherd spoke, the diamonds within the obelisks around the room could be seen glowing vibrantly.
As Leoquin grabbed his haul, he caught something unusual on the deck - some sort of creature he had never seen before. But some of the crew were there, and no one seemed to have a problem with her... Leoquin proceeded to drag his haul up the gangplank, having an especially tricky time due to still being in aquatic form. As he did so, he spotted Maverick and Ilasi coming along. Maybe Maverick would be interested in cooking some fish? Was Latnok here at the moment? Leoquin's cooking wasn't anything to write home about - it did the job, but was palatable to few other than himself. Ilasi clung tight to Maverick as they escaped (at least from Ilasi's perspective) to the ship. As they did, she identified Leoquin, trying to carry a huge haul of fish up the gangplank. "I'll never be able to figure out how he manages that sort of thing..." she commented.

Maverick shrank his shoulders, having expected Ilasi to have such knowledge.
"Well, everyone has their own talent I suppose..." he commented, sometimes flinching with how tight Ilasi was grabbing his hand. But it didn't last long. He was so happy to see the ship at last. After coming to the gangplank, he helped Leoquin with the new cargo. He wasn't certain if the merman still disliked him, but at least they didn't have the same tension between them like in the past. As he helped, Maverick also noticed their strange new guest. Just what the heck was that? A human with a very severe tan? Couldn't be. No human skin could reach that color naturally. Nobody seemed to mind the presence, so he decided to do the same. Angora bowed to Orion as well, retreating behind Shepherd to let the two of them talk. Shepherd's goal was a very ambitious one, but one that would probably be impossible. There were just too many people in the world who would always disagree, and peace was so hard to gain. As of right now, she imagined Aelinon was at war, and as long as racist, greedy people existed, Shepherd's goal would be practically impossible, especially since not even the Galaxy Dragon himself couldn't stop his creations from being greedy and going against each other's throat.

Leoquin allowed Maverick to assist him with carrying the load. "Thanks, buddy!" he said gratefully. "Some interesting catches. Guess you can try cooking this stuff up if you ever feel like it - or maybe Latnok could. I could also cook it, but... it might not end up being to everyone's taste."
"Leoquin, you know you can ask other people for help, right?" Ilasi asked him. "Ask for help? Are you seriously saying that to me? I wouldn't trust anyone who hasn't proved their competence. Besides that, you're the last person I would trust to help me," Leoquin said, as pent-up anger slowly started to boil to the surface. "That monster killed hundreds of your fellow countrymen, and yet you find fit to be its friend. I can understand Maverick here - he's not a citizen of Aelinon and has known the Scourge beforehand - but you? I don't know where your allegiance is, but it obviously isn't with your very own people. Or maybe your new friends have convinced you that everything we stand for is wrong? Is that it?" Ilasi shrank back as Leoquin blasted her. "Well... I... Shade is... he just needs..." "Needs what? Some loving care after killing children?" Ilasi couldn't immediately follow up with a response as she looked abashedly at the deck.

Maverick had been feeling happy after Leoquin called him a buddy, but the mood vanished drastically when he saw the merman treating Ilasi so rudely. He wasn't going to let this treatment slip.
"Un momento señor Leoquin. Ilasi was just suggesting something. No harm in that. There's no need to treat a lady so rudely!" he scolded, finding Leoquin's belittlement unforgivable. Ilasi didn't mentioned Shade specifically, yet he assumed she was talking about him. He wanted to defend Shade as well, but knew this wasn't the appropriate time. He couldn't believe Leoquin would behave this low, especially after he believed he and Ilasi had a nice friendship.

Kasidra turned to see some people walking up the gangplank, who she assumed were crew members as well. She watched as the merman dragged a net of fish up, and it wasn't long before he was helped by another man, but this one appeared human. Kasidra was about to walk over and introduce herself to them, but a conversation had started between them and the woman that had arrived as well. She listened, curious as to what they were talking about. A Scourge? There was a killer on board? Something worse than an assassin? Kasidra wasn't sure what they were talking about, but she figured it was best if she stay out of it. She did give a curious glance to the mermaid, though. She had caught her name briefly. So that was Ilasi. Kasidra wanted to talk to her, but now seemed like a bad time.

Leoquin gave Maverick a stare, before shaking his head. "Forget it. I've said my piece," he said resignedly. "Being a murderer sympathizer isn't a crime. Guess some of us just had friends to lose when that all went down. Just... do whatever. I don't care." Leoquin grabbed the fish net, prepared to carry it down to storage himself.
Ilasi was speechless. Leoquin had been friendly with her before now. She knew that he disliked Shade, but never knew just how far that extended. How were they to coexist now? She wasn't just going to suddenly start publicly shaming Shade. Was he right? Was she really a traitor? Was she really out of touch because she didn't have friends? She knew what had happened was a tragedy... but wasn't there more to it? "Maverick, I..." Ilasi said timidly, not being able to finish while still being in shock from Leoquin's sudden snapping. She noticed the seeming visitor nearby - and was highly embarrassed that this would be her introduction.

Maverick was rather hurt that Leoquin rejected his help, or that he gave such a harsh treatment when everything was going so well, though he wasn't particularly surprised by his behavior. He left Leoquin carry the net himself, not willing to help him if he didn't want to.
"Sheesh, what's eating that guy? One moment he's pleasant and in less than a second, he snaps. You didn't even mentioned Oscurito's name and look how he acted. Not even Angorita was that sensitive when I first met her." Maverick stated, quite upset about the merman's behavior. He then noticed Ilasi was about to say something. "Oh no te preocupes Ilasi. Just let him be. I suppose he's just too overly stressed like el capitán. It's cool that you want to support Oscurito even after what he has done. There's nothing wrong with having faith in people. Don't let it get to you." Maverick assured her, putting his arm on her shoulders. He knew how sensitive his girlfriend was, so he wanted to make sure she knew she hasn't done anything wrong.

Kasidra turned away and glanced back at the horizon. Maybe now was a bad time for introductions. The people she had seen so far all seemed to be either stressed or busy. She didn't want to interrupt or bother them when they weren't in the mood to talk. There would always be more time to meet everyone later. After all, Kasidra was joining them on their quest now, and the captain said that it could be awhile before they make it back to Aelinon. There was still plenty of time to get to know everyone before then. Maybe they would all be more open to talking tomorrow.

Shade meanwhile had been resting his head on the ships railing when he heard Leoquin suddenly snap at Ilasi. He simply shook his head. “The merman will never get around in life if he holds onto the past. It is sometimes best to let go. Even when it’s hard to let go.”
Orion gave a slight bow in return. He pondered for a moment at Shepherd question. “Answer this one question; if this world does come to harmony how do you intend to keep it? There will always be others wanting of other things some are willing to take it by force and are willing to kill over things.”

The cabin was certainly nothing major, but it would be more than sufficient as a living space. "Well, as long as this place does the job,you should be fine," he said. "Though are you sure you want to be hanging out here away from the guard towers with everything here? ...of course. You've obviously lived here long enough to know what you're doing."
He then gave Chester an excited look, as he squatted down to pet the beagle. "Hey Chester, you ready for this? Ready to show this man how quickly you can learn?" Shepherd gave a slight smile, seemingly having an answer already prepared. "When we are done, people will have a much, much deeper understanding of each other," he answered back almost immediately. "With people unified in thought and purpose, no one will ever attempt to disturb the peace - or will be severely outnumbered if they do."

“Humm....tell me what do you plan on doing to those who wish to break this peace? Light cannot survive without darkness. And darkness cannot survive without light. Each side needs balance. Here is one more question how do you intend to keep this balance if I do decide to help? I cannot help forever for it is my duty as the creator of this world and the life on it to interfere as little as possible.” Orion said. “If the people under you expect you do do something every time something happens they tend to stop relying on each other and more on the leader. But what if this leader falls then the next and the next? How would they pick a new one if there is no one to pick from?”

Shepherd was, once again, prepared with an answer. "Those who break the peace will be educated and rehabilitated, until they can fit in once more. I am currently what you would call a 'leader' - but, in the end, we will not need leaders. We will all be the deciders of our direction."
Shepherd paused for just a moment to allow Orion to absorb his words. "You need not be here forever; we need only have you grace us with your presence for but a moment. It would do us no good to be slaves to a god by our own reliance. In the end, we must find strength through our unity."

The man merely gave a chuckle in response as the Guardian soon squatted down to give Chester encouragement. He briefly stared at Raclaw and wondered just how such a creature came into Latnok's procession. The dragon/gryphon creature was clearly a pet, companion, or mount of Latnok based off the collar etc. "I'm ready!," Chester barked in a excited tone. "Good luck--You seem brave for such a little guy.," the older Bloodhound barked. Raclaw remained quiet for the time being as the hunter stood waiting near the water. "Ready when you are.," he said with a grin staring once again at the fur dragon. |

Angora remained on stand by, not making any attempts to interfere or gave her own opinion. Shepherd's goal was really big indeed, so it was no wonder he needed Orion's insight to get closer to his objective. It may be noble, but she listened carefully to what Orion was saying. Would too much peace really alter the natural order? All she wanted was a peaceful life, one where she could have her family and wouldn't be bothered, even if it meant isolating from the world, from the people and society that hated her for what she was, or would be unable to accept her friends either.

Orion pondered for a moment more. He looked like he wasn’t going to help. He then spoke. “Very well....your request has been granted under one condition that you allow free will. Allow those who do not wish to join you to live their lives as they see fit. But if you break this you will see my wrath come down on you.” Orion said Very sternly. His wings slightly glowing and flared out a little. He then awaited Shepherd reply.

Latnok withdrew some venison jerky from his bag, prepared by himself. "I have a little treat for you when you're all done with this!" he said encouragingly. "Now, make sure my friend here doesn't drown, please," he requested of the hunter and his dog. Hopefully this owuld be just as easy as helping Raclaw learn to swim.
Shepherd nodded in acknowledgement. "We understand your terms, and accept them," he said simply, as he withdrew a scroll from his pocket. Whatever happened, Shepherd always seemed prepared with some sort of response - this was clearly something that had been in the works for a while. Ilasi was still a sad wreck after what had happened - but was starting to recuperate. She recalled some of her earlier conversations with Leoquin. "It... well, I think... there's a lot that Leoquin feels he needs to hide," she mentioned. "During my conversations with him, it seemed he was looking forward to arriving here... but never told me why. He doesn't like asking for help... and now this... it feels like he's always somewhat distrustful. Why does he have to be like that? We are his friends... he should be more open with us..." If it took Leoquin that long before finally revealing how he felt about Ilasi's support of Shade, what else bothered him that they weren't being told about?

Maverick wished he could help further, but he didn't want to get involved with Leoquin's business.
"We let him be for now Ilasi. We can't do much for someone who refuses help and is prone to snap at someone like that. Come on. Maybe a little while in the cabin could do you good. Or you can talk to Oscurito for a little while and get to know him better if you choose. I'll go to Leoquin later and help him cook, and hopefully help him with whatever problem he had." Maverick expressed, willing to help Ilasi however he could and use cooking as an excuse to interact with him, though he didn't feel comfortable with the plan. Once again, Angora remained quiet, taking the time to appreciate this enormous room while the two individuals talked. This place clearly had magic aiding it's construction. It looked too impressive to be done by mere human hands, unless it took an awfully long time to complete. But now she knew such a place existed, and wondered if Shepherd would let her use this place as a sanctuary for her and her friends if the world out there gets too tough.

"Certainly," Shepherd answered, with his same lack of expression. "In what way would you have us prove our intent?"
"...I think I'll just go to the cabin for now..." Ilasi said reluctantly, as she began to leave. Was it really that bad to associate herself with Shade? Maybe Leoquin was just overreacting - but what if he wasn't? What if other Aelinon citizens would feel the same way? Would she be known as a murderer sympathizer? Would anyone care to have Shade redeem himself?

The hunter nodded as he let Rofus off his leash; the bloodhound would serve as an example or to help save Chester if need be. "You can do this Chester and we'll be right here. Now go show us what you got.," Raclaw finally said breaking his silence and further encouraging the little Beagle. The hunter briefly looked at Raclaw and seemed to be taking mental notes of the fur dragon's actions. 'So you can talk and you can be tamed.,' the hunter thoughts pondered audible to both Raclaw and Latnok-- if the Guardian was listening into Raclaw's senses. Chester quickly hurried over to the water where the lessons would soon begin. "Alright little guy-- you seem ready enough. Rofus here will serve as a guide and if need be, a lifeguard.," the hunter began to explain as Rofus gave a confirmative bark. "But first... a test. Chester is it?," Chester gave a quick confirmative bark which resulted in an approving nod from the hunter. "Alright Chester-- sit.," he then said testing basic obedience to which Chester sat as ordered to. "Good, good... you seem smart enough. Chester-- heel." the man then ordered as Chester went to his side. He took a single step into what seemed like a very shallow part of the pond/lake and waited to see the Beagle's response. Chester hesitated for just a moment before stepping paw into the water; the shall part only reaching up to his torso. "Now, how does it feel? Go ahead and move around and don't worry-- the water is shallow here. Chester did exactly that and moved around sticking close the the hunter and instructor. Raclaw gave a smile as Chester took what was a very important first step into the water. The man began moving closer towards the less shallow parts of the water and watched to see the Beagle's reactions. Would the dragon/gryphon-friendly dog step into the deeper waters? They would soon find out... |

Latnok looked on as the hunter slowly took Chester out of his comfort zone (if there was any comfort zone in the water to begin with.) Once the water was taller than Chester, then the real test would begin - how would Chester react to the potential for drowning? Would his fear cause him to flounder?
"Good job so far, Chester!" Latnok said encouragingly. "Not too hard! Just do as you're told!"

“Show me you have no intentions of taking free will.” Orion said. “I must go for now. But I will be watching. Summon me again in three days time. For in three days I will return to Earth and in that time prove yourself then and only then will I help you.” His wings then glowed brighter and then in a flash of light his image disappeared along with the Crystal.

Shepherd seemed pleased enough, as he began to read from the scroll provided. As he did, the obelisks vibrated, and waves of energy could be seen going from the spot Orion communicated from to the obelisks.
"We have what we need now," he said, satisfied. "We do not know how exactly the galaxy dragon intends for us to demonstrate that we will not take free will - we have not done so yet far. Regardless, we are aware that he may be reluctant to cooperate... so we had prepared an alternative solution." Shepherd put the scroll away, as the waves heading to the obelisks dissipated.

As the hunter got closer and closer to the deeper water-- Chester followed, but hesitated before following the man deeper into the water. As a beagle who had been mostly kept in a house for most of his life, he had never been in water so deep. And on the Enduring Legacy, he had only watched as *Raclaw* jumped into the water. 'And now it's my turn.,' he thought as he reluctantly trudged forward into the water. The hunter paused and gave Chester a reassuring nod before taking one more step into what he knew would be water that was too tall for Chester to stand in. Rofus gave an encouraging bark from a few feet into the deeper water, where the older dog was trending water. "Chester-- come. Start with two paws and paddle. I will be your lifejacket and I will keep you from drowning. And then, you will move on to four paws. Do you understand?," the hunter said extending an arm and allowing Chester to use it as undercarriage support. It would prevent him from drowning, while the little dog got his grip on using his paws to help trend water. Chester-- although reluctant and no doubt affected at least in part by his fear --gave a slightly worried bark and 'swam' forward allowing himself to be supported by the older man. Part of him just wanted to get out *now,* but he knew that he had to succeed for his sake and to prove himself to the others. He began to paddle, but only using his front two paws and counting on the hunter being there to support him. The hunter began to move and as he moved, so too did Chester retaining the two paw padding. "Comeon-- you can do it!," Raclaw encouraged from the sidelines alongside Latnok. He knew exactly what Chester was going though... |

Angora didn't know if Shepherd was addressing to her or someone else, so she didn't answered. While she wanted to feel like she had been helpful, she felt more used. Had her presence was merely to summon Orion? Did Shepherd failed to summoning him alone? She was rather nervous seeing the obelisks seemingly absorbed the energy left behind by the crystal, but didn't let the emotion show. While she had enjoyed seeing this place for a little while, she already wanted to leave.
At the ship, Maverick went below deck and fetched Dahlia, giving her some oats and then taking her out, walking her around the ship but making sure he stayed clear away from Shade, whom Maverick knew she didn't trust yet. He wanted to introduce himself to the newcomer, assuming she was a local, but she seemed distracted, so the hybrid decided to wait for the greeting later.

Shepherd was certain that Angora had some questions to ask - so he would seek to answer them. "You see, in order to solve the world's issues, we need power, and we need perfect harmony - and such harmony must be free from outside disruptions. With what has happened here, both issues have been addressed."
Shepherd withdrew his scroll to help explain the next part. "Now, this is a divinity scroll. It helps manipulate divine power. We have long sought out certain points we had identified Orion's appearance - and now, with our communication today, we have finally found a way to replicate its effects to a degree, and negate them. You will remember that this is called the Hall of Mortals - and it is called that for a reason. Here, on our holy ground, other gods are powerless, and we cannot be kept under their heel. And now, we can extend those effects to other places around the island. "That is the most important part. Do you not see how cruel it is for us to be subject to the whims of a god and their potential temper tantrums? In the end, gods don't seek to carve a world for us, but rather, a world of their own choosing - and we cannot have our harmony ruined because a god does not personally agree with it. Instead, we will have a god who serves the people. And he will come here - regardless of Orion's thoughts on the matter. "Surely you recognize these things? If he cared about us, why all these wars? Why all this strife? If he cared about you, why would he let you suffer as he has while leaving your friend to kill hundreds and get himself put in chains? "We need you, Angora. We care for you. What we want is a world where all can coexist - united through our devotion and empathy. It is your choice whether you still wish to join us - if not, we will escort you out peacefully, for we wish to have those who are truly devoted to our goal, not people who are forced to comply. I regret that this is your first experience with us face-to-face - but we commit to such drastic actions because we want a world in which you and people like you no longer have to live in fear. If you would still have us, we would very much like to show you what we can accomplish - what we HAVE accomplished. You will truly be able to see that it is all for the betterment of others." Latnok continued to look on, proud of Chester for being relatively bold so far. "No backing out now, Chester! You've got this!"

The hunter continued to support Chester for a little while long-- slowly lowering his arm and causing Chester to have to depend more and more on himself, rather than another to stay up. Rofus closely watched and barked words of encouragement; the bloodhound continuing to tread water. Chester would soon feel the water along his undercarriage more and more as his feelings began to become more mixed. His fear still told him to get out, but perhaps the water wasn't *that* bad. "Good good-- now try to use all four paws. Two will only get you so far. You need to use all four paws to swim on your own. Don't stop moving. Just.. keep.. swimming. Front and back.," the Hunter then said as Chester reluctantly began to use all four paws. Suddenly his fear began to kick in and he began to go down, but the hunter's arm would push him backup and allow him to try again. "You've got this-- again.," Rofus the bloodhound barked interested in seeing his new canine friend succeed. Chester immediately began using all four paws and began to swim forward following the lead of the Hunter/Instructor. Chester actually began to tread water as the older Hunter paused to look at Latnok. "Does he have a favorite toy or ball? If so-- throw it and let's see what happens. Raclaw nodded and pulled his/Chester only and favorite toy from his stash; the Hunter looking at the brief portal in slight owe as the Fur Dragon demonstrated what seemed to be magic. "Throw it.," the hunter ordered this time to Raclaw as he obeyed. "Chester-- catch and return it to me.," the hunter then said as the ball landed in the deeper waters requiring Chester to physically go after it himself. Chester looked at the others trusting that they knew what they were doing. And suddenly, Chester began to SWIM after the ball using all four paws this time. He didn't give pause and immediately returned upon grabbing the ball within his mouth. "Excellent, excellent!," the hunter praised upon seeing the little dog actually swim. |

Angora couldn't believe what she was hearing. Did Shepherd was seriously considering harvesting the power of a god, the Galaxy Dragon no less, to accomplish his objective? "Um... eh... sir? I... I do appreciate the care, and I do wish for a better world. I really do... but... I don't know. There's nothing more I want than peace and be with my family. But... Orion trusts me... and I want to trust him. I admit I was angry at him for letting me go through all of this suffering, but I want to trust he knows what he's doing." Angora expressed, still having faith in Orion despite all the misery that has happened to her. "I... I've been through a lot already, and my friends have suffered because of me. I know war, greed, and prejudges exist, and I don't want to be persecuted or hated anymore... but... this way? I don't want to be... selfish. I do want a better life, but I don't want others to be miserable in the process. I already know too much what it's like. I thank you so much for your help... but... isn't there another way?" Angora asked, flinching. It was almost as if she was waiting to be berated. Latnok already caused her much misery the last time because she gave an answer he didn't want to hear, and she was almost expecting Shepherd to do the same despite all the kindness and patience he has showed her. She didn't want to be against him, but she didn't want to be against Orion either, and with the way her host was expressing himself about the deity, it was almost as if he was willing to do whatever it took to accomplish his objective, even be against the Galaxy Dragon himself if necessary. Angora didn't want a part in such a drastic measure. Shepherd's intentions were good, but too extremist.

Shepherd, like previously, did not seem perturbed by Angora's response. "My child, we understand where you are coming from - but let us ask you this. Why should the will of one god overrule the will of the people? He is but one to the many - would you not find the desire for absolute control to such a degree tyrannical, if exercised by others? Orion will be free to conduct his affairs elsewhere - but this world will be ours. We can live in peace and harmony - and thrive better than we ever have before, wit a god who serves the people.
"We understand that this is something which you will have to think about. So we may see you out now - and you will hopefully have a chance to consider our message. We will have to revoke some memories of this place - but you will otherwise be unharmed. We wish you the best, Angora." Shepherd gave Angora a respectful bow as he awaited her response.

Shepherd was being more direct now. He confirmed Angora's worse suspicions. When Shepherd said about erasing some of her memories, she strongly believed he was the one who kept Maverick captive, but said nothing about it and simply replied to him.
"Thank you sir. Yes... I... need some time to think about it..." Angora answered nervously, in no way ready to give a proper response. Shepherd couldn't erase much of her memory if he expected her to answer. She was now more than ready to leave, but before she could be escorted out, she had to ask one more crucial question. "What now sir? Once I'm outside... what'll happen? Will Shady be alright? Or Maverick? Ilasi?" Angora asked, now the mermaid on her list of concerns. She was rather resentful towards Raclaw for failing to soften Latnok's heart, so her concern didn't extended to him just yet. She didn't know if she would be escorted back to the ship or if she would have to navigate the dangerous wilderness of that island, but all that mattered to her now was get her answer and leave that place...

Shepherd maintained the same kind demeanor as always, his behavior seemingly above being influenced by the circumstances. "You need not worry about your friends," he assured Angora. "Even if you do not wish to join us, your friends will all have the opportunity. All are welcome to join us. We wish only that one devotes themself to our cause."
Latnok gave a cheerful shout at Chester's accomplishment. "There we go! Easy, just like that!" He had full faith in Chester's ability to learn - and it was evidently well-placed.

Angora was fidgeting, not finding Shepherd's presence as comforting as before despite his gentle treatment. But she help up her chin, not wanting Shepherd to mistake her nervousness as ingratitude or untrustworthiness.
"Thank you for everything sir. I... see you later." Angora said, having wanted to say something else but desisted. She didn't want anyone to get hurt, especially her friends. Though she didn't care much about the Guardians, she didn't wish them any harm either. If they do get hurt for whatever reason, she didn't want to be held responsible for it. Maverick continued walking around the ship with Dahlia, avoiding Shade and trying to find the right angle to talk to the newcomer. Dahlia seemed to be calm around her, though also indifferent. Perhaps because she was still a stranger? With each walk, Maverick would also try to bring Dahlia a little bit closer to Shade, so that she could gradually lose her fear of him.

Kasidra noticed that one of the men she saw earlier was back out on the deck, now walking a buffalo around apparently. What was this, another pet? Between that and the dragon, how many animals were aboard this ship? She wasn't even aware that dragons could even be pets, but this black one had to be, due to the collar. It seemed strange, and Kasidra wondered how one would even go about taming a dragon. It didn't matter to her, though, so long as the dragon was tame. She wouldn't be bothered by all the creatures on board, so long as none of them attacked her.
