Talking about Skylanders, I've been thinking about this recently, but I really think the toys hurt the games' ability to be played in the future. I dread people coming into Skylanders now or in a few years from now and the thought of them buying all of the toys and accessories in the future to try to 100% them. Especially if someone wants to go CIB for all of the toys. People are unloading Skylanders in lots on eBay right now, but most lots are loose toys. Unless Activision release an all digital collection of all six games, I really wonder how people who are getting into Skylanders now or in like 2020-2025 will fare.

Plus you have the convoluted ways to reset things like creation crystals and other one-time use accessories, but that's another can of worms.

we still have at LEAST 12 of these ****ers coming, with more support likely in games like mario maker 2

Amiibo are more about unlocking bonus content or fast unlock of stuff you can get by playing the game, but a lot of games did other things, like Smash letting you train an AI player and saving the progress within the figure.

i honestly feel a close attachment with all the comics i own
i know theyre just pieces of paper with staple, but they really do offer an insight into my life since i started collecting around 2009
over just a few boxes, i have countless stories and adventures from heroes i look up to and always get excited to read about
from the flash, green lantern, the doom patrol, and the justice league, to the avengers, spider-gwen, gwenpool, venom, and the guardians of the galaxy, each issue tells a story that i grew up with, just like the movies that came out over time
in a way, looking back on them is a lot like looking back into my adolescence, and its honestly really interesting
