i honestly think people are ridiculous i can drink everyone i have ever met deep deep deep under the table sans my boyfriend. no joke. when i see people sit around all might sipping on a bud light or something i just dont understand. what do you feel from that. it takes to bottles of chardonnay before i feel drunk or preferably a case of 10% or more beer or just down a bottle of straight vodka. i know that i am an exceptional case and that my tolerance probably says a lot but when i see these big bad biker dudes falling over after ONLY ten beers im like dude pick it up will you.

Sp's cheap grocery food to cook for guide. I am using heb online for my prices cause it is the store in Texas. Also items are upcharged online so prices lower irl. Prices vary per area of living. Cooking requires a lot of time so I usually cook on weekends.

Carbs
Rice. Rice in big bag is like 5 bucks for 5 pounds.
Beans: dry 64 oz of pinto beans are 4 bucks.
Flour: 25 pounds is 11 bucks. Make bread it's cheap. You can make no kneed breads
Potato: russets are 5 bucks for 8 pounds. Make fries, bake, soups, etc.


Soup
Chicken bouillon 32 ounces is 6 bucks. Make soups, stock, etc.

Protein
Chicken legs whole 10 pounds is 10 bucks. Break them down, freeze them, cook them whole, etc.


Etc
64 ounce of lard is 10 bucks. Use as oil alternative.
Yellow onion: 2 bucks for 3 pounds.
Garlic: 2 is 1 dollar. Buy like 10, mince and freeze

Autocomplete perplexes me. I remember one time it tried to give me “Wonkavisision” despite never typing that word on that device before. And I apparently role play as a certain OC so much that his name’s become a permanent addition to my phone’s dictionary.

metroid dread is good but i have some issues with it. the emmis are kinda just annoying. it seems like the devs didn't know if they wanted them to be stealth or speedrunning sections and it tries to do both and i don't think it succeeds at doing so. also some bosses have cutscenes that arent really cutscenes but qtes for coutnering. its kinda annoying thinking that you won a fight just for it to be a qte. the final boss has a phase where he only takes damage from qte parries which makes a lot of it just waiting for the qte to start.

i do like how the bosses are done. no attacks are unavoidable, some are harder to avoid than others but after dying a bit you start to recognize new ways to avoid attacks. like "oh man i cant dodge this guy sweepig above me". and then you remember that you can crouch and you use that to beat it

full review of pokemon scarlet because i finally beat it after 3 years and 500 dollars later

region:
its pretty boring. this is the first open world game and its really boring. theres not really an iconic location because everything is either a plain field, mountain, snowy field, snowy mountain, or dirt. there's no cool monuments like the other games such as the radio tower from red and blue, or the bell tower from gold and silver. the world is just really boring. everything just looks the same. it doesn't help that flying locations have iconic names like penis west 1 and penis west 2. victory road is literally just a straight dirt road. the towns also feel empty. the world feels empty. the trainers barely exist.

it also doesn't help that it is a bit too weird to know where exactly to go during the game. open world games usually have the choice of illusion where theres a path that the devs want you to take by having blocked off mechanics, blocked off sections, or a road pointing where to go. pokemon scarlet has an order where you travel from one part of the map, and then fly to the other. i think this could have been fixed if the levels scaled with the gyms. i don't think level scaling is necessary for trainers (have it like elden ring where you can get **** on by a level 100 charizard on route 2). it just feels random to have a gym with level 50 mons next to a titan thats level 20.

story:
the story is fine. i think my issue with the story is that it is 3 separate quests that should have interacted with the other more. the best part of the base games story was the final hour where everything comes together. the best story being the one about the dying dog because dying dogs are pretty relatable. the characters have growth and stakes. its really nice. i just think the stories should have interacted with other more like have arven randomly show up in the team star story. make it feel like an adventure with a group of friends instead of walking to a area where an npc is waiting for you.

battles:
they are easy. trainers have like 1-2 mons. gym leaders are still pushovers who get rolled by a type disadvantage. i do enjoy the boss battles in the game. titans are really fun and i hope legendaries in the future are more like raid battles not just throwing a pokeball at a 1 hp mon for 15 minutes.

dlc:
i love the dlc. all my criticism from above is fixed. the first region you go to is really fun. there are areas that the player actually explores and hangs out at. like you go to a festival with friends. no other pokemon game does this. you hang out in a region, learn its lore, talk to locals. its really cool. this is the first time in pokemon that felt like a look into their world and not just going into a new city, beating the gym leader, and leaving.

the story is probably the best story in pokemon. the characters have actual character arcs. there are personal stakes, questionablle moral decisions, and growth. people actually talk about carmine's character instead of saying something like "they are hot and have a garchamp that beat me as a kid"

the battles are also amazing in the 2nd dlc. every battle is a double battle with trainers using synergy from the competitive side. there are trainers who use sunny day to boost their fire types, trainers who use protect to scout your moves, trainers using trick room to let their slow team go first, trainers using rain to combo with hurricane and thunder, and a trainer who uses incineroar with intimidate. this is the perfect introduction for players to see what real pokemon is like. the difficulty is similar to the best pokemon rom hacks where its challenging, but you can still make it easier by healing or overleveling if you want. this ability to choose how difficult you want battles to be is better than the difficulty option people wanted from black and white 2.
