- New Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game for the Switch (I'm not expecting the new main series game to be revealed as I expect that will get its own direct at a later date).
- New SSBU DLC fighter reveal.
- Gameplay footage for the new Animal Crossing game.
- Release dates for the Pichu, Pokemon Trainer and/or Incineroar amiibos.
- Confirmation of Spyro Reignited on Switch.
- Switch port of Twilight Princess.

I want Laharl, at least one Touhou rep (preferably Reisen tbh), and Irisu. I ****ing love anime but Mashpotato Samurai needs to realise there is more anime outside of Fire Emblem.

There are multiple things I want, one is SOMETHING Kid Icarus related, and, ya know, the ****ing obvious one I want, Spyro Reignited on Nintendo Switch. The latter is almost certain to happen, given that accidental leaking.


Chances of Kid Icarus content though?

Like, it's hella cute, but it feels like an indie knockoff rather than an official AAA game, and I personally feel that A Link Between Worlds (Which is a 3DS game, mind you) looked better stylistically. ;; Still going to buy it, though.

It started rather strong and then just kind of lost its steam pretty quickly. The ending would've sat better with me if Link's Awakening didn't look like it did, but that new game by Platinum looks interesting at least...

Yeah I think Astral Chain looks cool, but Joker was such a tease with literally no real info (and it honestly would've been better if they showed nothing at all) and Fire Emblem Three Houses looked so bad I doubt I'd buy it on sale. Half of it felt like a Dragon Quest direct too.

All in all, I kinda regret wasting my time for this. I kinda wished they'd have a stronger Direct, and I know not every single Direct is going to have stellar announcements, but I expected nothing and was still disappointed.

Good Direct for me, had some pretty cool announcements. Mario Maker 2 specially got me excited. The Captain Toad DLC is also kinda cool, and the Smash teases make me think there's gonna be a Smash Direct, honestly.

Link's Awakening looks beautiful, the new Platinum take on Knuckles' Chaotix is well... A Platinum game, cool as hell. Rune Factory I guess is cool for the fans, I don't have much interest personally. Fire Emblem looks interesting, I like what I saw.

Also a lot of things for today, I like that.

The Link’s Awakening art style looks really cute! I don’t know why y’all are hating on it so much. It’s certainly different but I don’t think simple is necessarily bad. It reminded me of Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, but without all the clay.

I don’t get where people think it looks cheap or boring. Simplicity worked for me!

Three Houses looks like a Harry Potter fanfic.

That was really disappointing and not that great. Considering we've been waiting 5 months since the last standard direct it would've been reasonable they would have had at least one big announcement but nope.

I mean the only thing I liked was... I dunno Boxboy i guess?

Harry Potter and the Fire Emblem looks alright but they didn't really show a ton considering it's coming out in July and it was advertised as being the highlight and the big thing they were showing off.

They could've brought ANY of the AC games to Switch and they chose AC3 first. I don't understand why when they have Origins and Odyssey, or even the entire damn Ezio trilogy or 4 if we're talking pre-Origins games.

I don't necessarily have any interest in Hellblade but I think it's cool that it's coming to Switch at least. Same goes for Astral Chain and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3.

Hell, that could probably sum up all my thoughts on the direct- interesting but nothing noteworthy. It just felt really dead on arrival.

I'm not against a Link's Awakening remake, I just would have personally preferred if the next 2D Zelda game was a new game or a follow up to Link's Awakening or something. But god I do not like that art style one bit. The opening cutscene looks gorgeous but the rest looks more like an indie Zelda-inspired game than an actual Zelda game.

That fakeout with Joker really pissed me off. If they weren't going to show a full gameplay trailer then don't show us anything. I think most of us would have assumed Joker was coming this Spring anyways too. Don't remind us that Smash exists, that Joker is coming, and then go "lol now here's Captain Toad DLC." If he wasn't ready to show off then don't show him off like that.

Not a good direct. People are memeing it up but when Tetris Battle Royale is the best and most talked about part of the entire direct that's a problem.

EDIT: Oh yeah and Ubisoft continues to make a better Starfox game with Starlink than Nintendo has made since Starfox 64 and I'm shocked Nintendo hasn't just let the Starlink team start developing the next Starfox game.

Ubisoft is putting ACIII on Switch first because it's technically the most recent game. ACIII is getting remastered on every console, not just Switch.
Also keep in mind, the Switch DOES have AC Odyssey, but it's Japan only.

The Direct was fairly decent if not pretty good. It's a direct, not an E3 presentation, Nintendo is saving the big shots for that. Mario Maker 2, Captain Toad DLC, and Link's Awakening Remake were nice surprises. The only flaw of the direct I feel was the pace
