White diamond and the way she talks to Steven is familiar to me in that I think she's supposed to exhibit Borderline Personality Disorder. The way in which she doesn't allow Steven to respond, how she belittles Pink Diamond's love and concern for the Earth as a "little game", it does not feel right at all Can't wait for the next episode, or whenever the movie comes out.

Also, Diamond Mecha Suit when??? hahaha

Did anyone see that commercial with Peridot before the episode started? (It showed, at least on the CN app.) Very good. Will support. Peridot has been and always will be my favorite Gem. Good to see more screen time from her, even if it's in some sort of brainwashing format.

If I'm being honest,
this show is starting to disappoint me. LFHTH built up so much ... but then we have a few months break and we just get Steven hanging out with the (two less interesting) diamonds? This hour long special better be good because this show is starting to become tedious to watch. I'm only watching it now because I invested so much time into it when it was actually a decent show (season 1-2) and I want to see how the story ends. Sorry for being such a downer, but we're finally in homeworld and we haven't even got so see any of it! Just ... steven hanging out with the diamonds and throwing a ball .... and then the watermelons???Please tell me how this is supposed to keep me interested.

That was ... interesting. Have no ****ing idea how they'll continue on with season six though ...
because literally everything got wrapped up!!! Besides Larsadie kiss I guess. ;ppp
Seriously. Corruption, diamond authority is nice now (eugh ... why do they have to redeem everyone), the question if Rose/PD is still alive (SHE'S NOT!!!!!). Even the side characters have wrapped up their arcs. The cool kids are (semi??)famous, Lars and the off colours are back, Greg is (still) rich. Everyone's happy. What else can they do? We saw all of Steven's fusions too, and Obsidian. This would have been a great place to end the show and just leave it so it doesn't get worse by being dragged on.
Wait, I guess there's still the deal with the living walls and the bubbles in YD's room? Is the cluster happy too, will she stay like this forever?

One thing I was super impressed by was the animation. They really stepped it up a notch here, after how ****ty the show has been looking lately I'm really glad.
AND THEY PUT ACTUAL GOLD ON LAPIS' DESIGN THANK YOU.


But yeah, seriously, I don't know if I'll continue to watch it. I'm happy with how this finale ended it so I might just want to leave it at that, and the show has been a little disappointing as of late. This episode was good, but I think recently my joy for the series has kind of drained. ><;

Yes, everything was wrapped up so well; so well in fact that the finale kind of seemed like the end of the show. Although a season 6 is confirmed, I'm not really expecting one. So, outside of the movie, I'm not expecting anymore SU content.

(Although if Peridot or Bismuth got a spin-off, I'd totally be on board xp)

And as a trans person I really appreciate the sort of trans metaphor with Steven evolving from Rose Quartz and them being different people.
