I’ve been watching Rick and Morty recently. I mean it is interesting and entertaining show but in my opinion not worth the hype it gets. It usually has good to great main plot but its subplots usually are disappointing and supporting characters (rest of the family) are highly uncharismatic and hardly raise interest at least to me. But since the main characters’ common chemistry in their adventures together is highly amusing, I keep on watching it. Solid 8/10.

Ok KO: Let’s Be Heroes-

I probably talked about this show already in this thread, but as more and more episodes come out, I love the show more and more as time goes on. It’s such a cute, little show. KO is by far my favorite kid character in anything ever. Better than Stranger Things, Steven Universe, etc. He’s just so adorable and it never feels forced at all. He’s just an immature child who really wants to do right by his fellow employees. Rad and Enid are great, too. All of the cast is great! They are all well-written and never come off annoying for me.

I think the only thing I can really knock the show for is the weirdness with the animation. Every storyboard artist on the show has their own unique art style that Ian lets get translated into the show. There’s no “on model” look for the characters. This is fine, but it can be distracting when two people are boarding an episode and all of a sudden the art style on the characters changes dramatically! Also some artists are just better than others IMO.

Other than that, great show!

South Park season 21. It was the best South Park season in recent memory. Way better than 20 and 19. That show just keeps on getting more entertaining and I think that it is because of Trey's and Matt's acrive participation.

I laugh with that show, but it often goes a little too far with it's parody. Not even The Simpsons is that cruel smilie

Hot Streets

It’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a cartoon, tone and creativity wise. The animation isn’t the best, but I think it adds a layer of surreal charm to the whole thing. It’s certainly a very funny show, from what I’ve seen. Can’t wait to see more

I don’t watch much TV lately, but I finished American Vandal season 2, and I’m actively watching The Purge.

American Vandal Season 2-
I was definitely a fan of season one, and the immature, sophomoric humor of the first season was surprisingly well executed. I love the way it took itself seriously despite literally being a mockumentary about spray painting dicks. Season 2 had a lot more gross out humor, which I honestly really didn’t love. However, the twists and turns of the season really shined by the end, crafting a surprisingly poignant story.

The Purge-
I would like to preface this by saying I love the Purge movies conceptually, but they’re sloppy in execution and could have been so much better. The TV show does justice to the premise, and crafts a very interesting show. From a technical standpoint, I absolutely adore the lighting in this show, specifically in regards to anything involving the Bus, and especially the very final shots of episode one. I like the contrast between the street level stuff, then all the white collar stuff with the CEO and the couple. My only issue is that I don’t find Miguel to be a very well written character, but other than that, literally everything else is great.

The Dragon Prince

Enjoyed it a lot! Framerate was a bit odd, but thankfully it didn't distract me nearly as much as I worried it would. Framerate quirk aside, my goodness, is the art direction gorgeous. I need to see more of the dragons!

My only complaint is that it was too short. I really enjoyed the episodes we got, but I feel like certain things could've fleshed out more, either with longer episodes or just more episodes. Ah well. Maybe Season 2 (please get confirmed...) will be longer.

It only has one episode right now, but Into the Dark on Hulu is really good so far! It's a horror anthology with hour and a half episodes that come out each month, each themed around a different holiday. The Halloween one was super sun, I definitely recommend it! It was equal parts chilling and fun, I loved it.

Just finished the newest season of Venture Bros (it ended last week). I loved it. Seriously, the show keeps getting better and better. If you’re into fun adult cartoons with a lot of great jokes and parodies but also an alarmingly big amount of heart it’s worth checking out. And they’ve already been renewed for another season!! So excited.

Hilda Season 1.

This is really what I wanted out of Gravity Falls that fell into the Mabel black hole. It's not too dark(it gets as close as a show for very young children can), but it's so cozy at all times and the plot structure prioritizes characters over something too complex to introduce everyone. Can't wait for Season 2.

80’s/Early 90’s were such a weird era for cartoons. The quality of those old classics are really debatable, but despite being shows clearly made for kids, they don’t entirely feel like kid’s shows.

Plus, I just adore the designs of the characters

That I agree with. The only movement from the characters were when they walked, did certain actions and their mouths when they talked. Everything else remained still. But despite the limitations, they were still very entertaining, the writing was superb and the characters were fun and sometimes even relatable.

"My 600lb Life" (on Amazon Prime? Been watching it with someone else, so I'm not quite sure what platform it's on). Very interesting. Provides insight to me for the ways in which we trap ourselves with negative thinking patterns. Motivating to see how people completely change their entire lives to pursue their goals, and a reminder that I can do that, too.

Netflix's Umbrella Academy is genuinely one of the best pieces of superhero media I've ever watched. Even if you're burned out from superheroes, I'd recommend giving it a watch. It's a rip roaring good show that plays into just about every pulp trope while leaving behind a fantastic genre deconstruction with excellent exploration of the characters within. Every character has something darker secret underneath them, and it's honestly great to watch all these completely different people form into an actually cohesive unit.

That being said, it isn't a completely standalone experience. I fully expect the show to be renewed considering the critical response, but this season feels like a first part in the same way Infinity War is the first part of what ends with Endgame. I won't spoil anything for you, but the ending just made me want more, rather than tying up any ends in the season.

Regardless, it's an EXCELLENT show, and definitely my current favorite.

Black Mirror Season 5

I found it unfortunately short, but with the length of Bandersnatch, I was okay with it. I felt like Smithereens was ridiculously preachy and cliched in all the wrong ways, Striking Vipers was... odd, but I really liked Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too. Smithereens was by far the worst Black Mirror episode to date, Striking Vipers was okay, but the performances were amazing, and Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too had a really unique premise that worked out excellent. I guess I was kind of had the opposite opinion of a lot of the critics I follow. Overall, pretty good season, but not as good as Season 4 imo.
