May be if the creator of Myths Awakens changes the main character and all the sprites. It can still be it's own game. (By changing the main character, I mean Spyro himself, change his name and the way he looks and let him have different attacks)

If you make fangames this is an eternal risk. And we know how much Acti hates risks.

But yeah, this isn't a mod, Cyreides can just change assets and make a retro looking game with Spyro-y physics, it's not all lost.

Just keep him a dragon....we really need more playable dragons.

If he's still going to be a dragon, then his design will need to change. And possibly his attacks so it's not like Spyro.

I really don't want this to affect the sales of the Reignited Trilogy. I want Toys For Bob to give us more Spyro in the future!

It would never affect the sales. It's a free fangame with no intentions of making profit, it got people talking about Spyro again. That text in the C&D is just them trying to find a nicely worded reason for the letter.

Some people are so angry at it, that they don't want to support Activision anymore, and they cancelled their Reignited Trilogy pre-orders.

Awww, this is such sad news. The project had gotten so far, I'd forgotten about the inevitable cease and desist thing!

As for the sales: there were some people who, from the start, were not buying into Reignited or anything Activision related when it came to Spyro, so Myths Awaken was this nostalgic escape for them. The project's destruction?! Yeah, that was never going to cheer them up. And of course there were those that loved MA and were gonna buy the RT. I think this new wave of "cancelled my preorder" people are just another vocal minority.

You don't have to worry about sales, Hardback! Myths Awaken didn't exactly have this gigantic following - if it did, the C+D would have probably come earlier. Angry, angry vocal minorities are not gonna kill our chances at a new Spyro 4, I think.

I don't see Nintendo having any problem with those fans. Yes, they have a right to be upset since it was a big project(and so were so many pokémon and metroid fangames), but it's so few people.

Even then. Cancelling preorders doesn't make a dent on Reignited. If it doesn't have some HUGE issue or the downloadable games become a mess, it's gonna sell a lot.

Ah, that's a shame, although to be honest, after the announcement of Reignited I started thinking this was only a matter of time.
