It's common in Japan to delay events whenever a disaster like this happens. Japan has a far more collective culture than most Western countries. Even if the disaster did not affect anyone at Nintendo directly, a delay is absolutely to be expected.

Also, at least one dev team is in Hokkaido. It's not just about the respect, they have to know how the families are doing before doing anything "celebratory", which is something japan is VERY much against when a large disaster happens.

Joe Merrick also said something in a deleted tweet that might mean it was EVEN MORE too soon than just a direct, but in case it spoils a reveal:

This is the first Direct I'm salty after, because of the Mystery Dungeon stuff. Yes, this is a remaster of a Mystery Dungeon not developed by Spike Chunsoft, but it still disappointed me.

VIII and XIII will come to the Switch in 2019, so why announce them a year before their 20th and 10th anniversary respectively?

With VII coming to the Switch, I hope Sephiroth becomes a playable character in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. As for assist trophies...

Im so disappointed in the Splatoon update. So today we're only going to get 4 new weapon kits and Starfish Mainstage should be going back into the rotation soon. The Splatfest changes are odd, but I guess it'll be nice since Splatfests will be the only new thing to look forward to after October.

The stage shown off in the Direct is being added in October and it's the final stage to be added in the game. There's another Kensa Collection then as well, with presumably new kits for the Brella, Splatling, and Slosher. New weapons will continue to December and then it'll just be Splatfests until next July. There's apparently a new sub and special weapon thrown in October's patch as well.

But that's it? I have to start paying for all of my disconnects and communication errors and I have basically no incentive to pay for it? I can understand that sounding a little selfish but I mean, people are already on the fence about the Online, and some people will only be paying it for Splatoon.

I was expecting some big send off kind of thing for 4.0, but it looks like it's just less content than there was in 2 and 3.0. The new stage looks nice, and Im excited about the new sub and special, but this game has been such a big part of life that if it's ending I'd want it to go out in style. I assume the final Splatfest will be something big, maybe Off the Hook vs the Squid Sisters?

I just... I'm immensely disappointed and my day is ruined. How is someone supposed to want to pay for the Online if one of the most popular games to use it is dying out a few months after? I think I'm skipping out on the year subscription and just subscribing until January.

I was mainly surprised by the price of the online services, only $20.00 for a year? That's a lot better than I expected.

They're not cartoony, the complaint is that they're just a simple design. the first Luigi's Mansion had a whole family of ghosts with unique designs.

I mean the regular ghosts, like this guy

Dark Moon was full of this ghost, just with different colors or size(there are exceptions). People liked the original enemies more because, not just the portrait ghosts had all unique designs, even the regular enemies all had interesting shapes.

I was just confused, cause these guys are quite similar to most of the ghosts in Dark Moon and the ones we recently saw

i was kind of indifferent towards this direct but there were a number of cool things i enjoyed:

-ANIMAL CROSSING SWITCH BAYBEE
-isabelle deserved her spot, im proud of her
-im pumped for the katamari remaster and the kirbys extra epic yarn

My thoughts:
- I predicted that Isabelle will be revealed as a Smash fighter as well as an announcement of a new AC game.
- I didn't expect all those FF games to get ported to Switch. As a fan of Mystery Dungeon style games, I'll be getting Chocobo's Dungeon.
- I also didn't expect Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn. I've always wanted to play that game, so I'll be getting it.
- Yoshi's Crafted World looks cute.
Looks like 2019 is gonna be a good year of gaming.

Pretty underwhelming imo but still some pretty cool stuff. Luigi's Mansion 3 was probably the highlight for me, and considering we just got a whole Smash direct I'm surprised we got anything Smash at all tbh. Still, Isabelle being in the game is great and I don't really care for Animal Crossing but a new Animal Crossing game is still pretty hype.

I feel as if the Luigi's Mansion 3 ghosts are just placeholders, not only do their animations appear way too stiff for a game so far in development, they also appear way too much, like, there wouldn't ever be 5 of the same ghost in one room


So I'm guessing those are just Placeholders for later

I doubt they're placeholders, they're new ghost designs, why make a few design for just a placeholder? And I'm sure their animations will be polished, no doubt.


As for the last part, how too many ghosts, since when that was ever set in stone? They could easily add more ghosts than usual in a room if they wanted to.

Luigi's Mansion 3:I still stand by the ghost designs not being final, but even if they aren't I don't care, the game looks fun and so does next year, just in general(Also Polterpup is ****ing beautiful)

Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn:(Jon works for Nintendo Confirmed) But yeah, this was a neat little surprise, and I'm sure my friend will be extatic cause he loves this game

Mario+Luigi Bowser's Inside Story+Bowser Jr's Journey:OMFG DID YOU GUYS SEE THOSE NEW CHARACTERS!!!!

Luigi's Mansion(3DS):I like the whole Co-op thing and the amiibo functions, it really makes this feel like a more definitive version of the game. Also note how they only showed 3 of the 4 amiibo functionality

Yo-Kai Watch Blasters:I'm not really a fan of Yo-Kai Watch, so I'm not getting this, but it looks pretty neat

Ultimate Bundle:IDGAF

Final Fantasy:Okay, so, I might play like 2-3 of these, but like, there were WAAAAYYYY too many games shown off, still neat you can play a ton of FF games on the switch
