Infusion patient here. I get stuck regularly and have a central line placed so a whole bunch of chemicals can get pumped into my veins. I can't even donate blood anymore, because it could make the recipient sick. <.<

It's like people use the term because they have mixed up morals and can't see the bigger picture. Someone attention seeking is something big to them and something very morally wrong, but they don't say a word about some of the worse behaviour and actions from people. It's not about their morals, it's about making them feel good about themselves by pretending someone isn't suffering. People will go on and on and be so vocal about people they merely find mildly annoying, anytime someone else does something really horrible, they're silent.

Sensitive people get called this too, because they don't understand they really feel that way and are not exaggerating, they brand them attention seekers.

People need to have more compassion and understanding before they use this label.



Oh goodness, pretty much I agree with all of this.

I usually tend to agree with your opinion on these sorts of issues.

Wait what? I've been called this myself and have never seen it as being targeted at women. Hell I've seen more men referred to as attention seeking. I don't see any gender relevance in this, it's just a general term as far as I can see

I'm just hearing about the McSkillet thing. I didn't know too much about him beforehand, but I do have an opinion on his actions.

I'm gonna be going into some deep stuff here so I'll spoiler it.

It's terrible that he killed himself at all, and my condolences to his friends and family, but I must say that the way he did it was absolutely disgusting. For those who don't know, he killed himself by plowing down the freeway in his car and ramming into another driver. This killed two of the people in the other car - a mother and her 12-year-old daughter. To not only take your own life, but also those of two random, innocent people, one of them being a child? That's not only selfish, it's evil.

So, I went on a trip to Washington DC, and I find out that Storm here also happened to be there. And then on Friday, I went to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, and learn that she’s there as well, and at one point, we were both in the African mammals exhibit! Well, naturally it didn’t occur to me to say through text what I look like or ask what she looked like until after the fact. I think I remember seeing someone that might’ve been her though. And Storm, if you’re reading this, sorry if you didn’t want me putting this story on DS.

Ah, I was pretty sure I heard it mentioned once but maybe I misread. There was at least a time when a few users wanted me banned at least but those were dark times so we don't talk about them or else we might accidentally summon the Dark Lord Zorgarth XI again.
