So I went to Gamestop today because I needed to pick up a free code for Pokemon. And I saw a little sign that said donate to Autism research, was about to give a nice donation and then I saw 2 words that made me change my mind instantly.

Because of "Autism Speaks" which is a terrible group of people that essentially demonizes kids with any form of Autism. To the point of promoting parents to kill their Autistic Kid.

Idk how they still get traffic with companies in general. But then again PETA is still around despite killing almost all of their "rescues".

Well that's appalling. I couldn't be arsed going to the nearest GameStop anyway (Games are slightly cheaper in Smyths and there's always Amazon) but tricking people into given money to an ableist cult is low, even by greedy corporate standards.

Prominent in the same way PETA is the most prominent animal rights group or how EA is one of the biggest game publishers in the world. PETA is a hypocritical animals cruelty gang and EA makes nothing but expensive yearly shovelware. Autism Speaks comes off more as a KKK-equivalent against the autistic. The sooner these organizations F off and die, the better.

PETA's more obviously militaristic, even without knowing the shadier stuff. Plus, other animal charities (such as ASPCA) are well-known. I don't know myself of a better alternative for Autism Speaks.
