am i wrong in thinking that people on buses need to keep their voices down? today this lady on my bus (which btw is public transport, not a school bus) was trying to work on something, but these two girls behind her were talking in very loud voices.

idk maybe its b/c i could hear them through my music but i feel like they could have been quieter.

People can be just loud, respect for other people nearby isn't required.

I was literally just saying this to someone the other day. Everyone is always so loud all the time and I would be so beyond embarrassed if I noticed myself having such an obnoxiously loud conversation. I don't think it applies to just buses either, like there's just no reason for people to be as loud as they are. If I'm ever in a small place packed with a lot of people I'm always whispering. Respect for other people isn't required but it sure is the decent thing to do.

I completely agree with these. I mean, you're in a public place, where other people are and, to me, it's kind of obnoxious to have no self control of your personal volume. it is not considerate to other people around you. I mean, you can talk, you can laugh, but having some volume control is the least you could do to not disrupt somebodies entire (in this case) trip.

I contain myself for the respect of people around me, and just because it's a decent thing to do, really. i'll be obnoxious on my own time, not someone else's.

My brother has a really loud voice and he’s incredibly obnoxious with his loud joking with his friends. I should probably tell him to cool it down a bit. Better late than never

I totally agree with you, Paris, so if you're wrong, we're wrong together!

It's fine to noisily enjoy yourself when you're not in a public place that's literally packed with a dozen people... But have some moderation, here, please!
