From what ive seen a lot of non Asians seem to think that Asians are attractive while Asian Americans tend to think that Asians aren't attractive. As an Asian American I tend to prefer other ethnicities that aren't Asian.

Honestly, it's very creepy. A lot of non-Asians, especially white people, see Asians as model immigrants and adore the whole Yamato Nadeshiko trope because they love their women to be submissive and never anything mean about their men.

The "science" that was put into this is incredibly incredibly lacking, and it doesn't take into account any of the thousands of other influential factors that determine attraction. The video was essentially just "these specific pictures of people (women) from a limited number of Asian countries (picked to fit a narrative) have ___ facial features, so that makes them cute". If the maker of the video attempted to discuss any of the harmful stereotypes about people from Asian countries that play into the whole "Asians are cute" thing, he would have realized that it's based more around cultural perceptions than anything else.

It just seems so weird to me to say that an entire group of people can look one way or another. Asian people are just people and they can look as differently from each other just like black people, white people, hispanic people, etcetc. Dunno when saying "all Asians look the same" became science. I don't think the guy who made the video is a racist or anything, I just think he's an idiot.

I don't know why the "submissive Asian woman" trope is still a thing. Here in Korea, none of the women I've met are submissive at all. Whatever basis in reality the trope may have had must have died out a while back.
