It's alarming how much you guys need validation. Very, very alarming.
I could understand if it just happened once, but this is the 7th? 8th? 9th? time it's been a trend. Especially when we already have a stickied thread for it.
I'm not trying to judge or anything, just thought it'd be worth mentioning.

most of the time its just people fishing for compliments and don't want to give their thoughts on other users.

That's still a huge mark of insecurity - selfish insecurity at that. |

I'm an incredibly insecure person, so yes, I seek validation from others. Yes it's very vain.
And I've only done it once!

I wouldn't call it vain. Vanity is worse, I think I'd call it craving reassurance |

TBH, people's thoughts of me here aren't THAT important to me, despite what it may seem. Yeah, it was vain to make that post, but if you dislike these posts that much I'll make sure not to do it again.

Hey is there anything you want me to bring for the rest of the week and if so it’s so cool that you can do something and just do it like that |

It's hard to tell the difference between the two without knowing what the user who made the topic had in mind when they created it. I suppose if they already know they're going to be showered with praise and considered themselves an already "popular" and well liked user, than that's vanity. If, and I'm assuming most users will fall under this category, the user who made the topic did it out of curiosity/has poor self-image or just wanted to look look popular by following the crowd, than that sounds like assurance seeking. Just my two cents. |

The only reason why I join in such conversations is so I can know if there's any flaws with my character I can improve. If I don't want to improve them, or if I don't think it will be a change that will improve the mood of the community, I'll dismiss it. I'm big on self improvement and criticism, despite being incredibly sensitive.
As for responding to other people, some people may just need something nice and sincere said about them every once in a while! ![]() |

I mean, I don’t think I’ve made a topic like that too many times, but I will agree that I have a pretty poor image of myself and sometimes a baseless compliment can help. I fish for them way too much sometimes and I feel like I’m a bit undeserving of it, but also I’m still just a teenager and figuring myself out in the world.
I try not to beg for praise too much |
