That is a really great question! I'll try to keep this brief- if you want the full length essay, I'll probably DM you later when I'm not on my phone.
Anyways, about Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly, yes. I suppose I got lucky and ended up with the GameCube version. I noticed in your YouTube L.P. you were playing the PS2 version, i.e.: the worst version out there. I recommend the GameCube or Dolphin emu, there's a minor increase in polish, minor. I also implore going into the pause menu and turning off hints, it shuts Sparx up in the hub world, which is a godsend.
aside from that, I guess growing up on **** games and licenced games garbage has thickened my skin increasing my tolerance to mediocre titles, or I'm some kind of masochist or something. I mean, after playing games recently like DuLuDubi Star, Fur Fun, or Miners Adventures Ultra, Spyro: EtD is above them, but still far from perfect and nowhere near as good as the Original Trilogy.
And there's just something about the calm atmosphere and great music still done by Stewart Copeland, and I'd dream and still do about what EtD could have been. The levels themselves I enjoy regardless, I find myself having fun in Luau Island, Monkey Monastery, and Honey Marsh....


And to think this post is the not essay version, wow. I'll stop myself here and to a TL:DR

TL:DR- I've grown up playing worse games and find myself enjoying this one more

You mention playing ETD on Dolphin, have you attempted a playthrough in wireframe mode?
