all of the failed Mew clones are dittos, Mew is the ancestor to all Pokemon, he's basically the Adam and Eve, that's why ditto can transform into anything but he's a failed experiment so he can never get the face right as mew can transform into anything perfectly.

Basically Ditto's are mewtwo but not really
