It wouldn't really create "drama" if people would stop getting pissy when someone has a legitimate reason for having it done (Such as being doxxed) and thus has their topics removed. They're just topics, they don't matter. Get over it.

As for people who can't control themselves and just leave, then yeah, I'd agree with you.

Personally, I have a hard time accepting it as a legitimate solution in those cases even. If the person is being as thorough in their search as feared, they'll find the information anyway from other users posts about the given user. Like with Baro who did it to avoid certain information getting out irl, though other users had discussed it before and we talked about it after it happened too. If the person was really looking everywhere as thoroughly, they can read our posts and still find the desired info. It also doesn't remove quoted posts, so several posts by the user will still hang around anyway.

It's a nuclear panic option to help the person sleep better at night, but doesn't actually solve the issue at hand.

The closest drama I've seen is when people freaked that Baro's confessions topic was removed.

The only drama that would come of it are people reacting to it and theorizing why it happened. If you just leave it alone nothing comes of it.
