Hypothetically...

dark52 leaves darkSpyro, forever. He decides to instead give his status, Spyro the Admin, to you. Congratulations! You are now in control of darkSpyro!

You take in the news. All of darkSpyro now belongs to you - YOU. You can do anything - take away all the Skylanders boards and replace them with boards dedicated to various Vocaloids, change "Red Sparx" to "Noob", or even forego the rules and make the entire website dedicated to NSFW RP.

Nobody can stop you now, you own the website. If anyone goes against the new rules or your actions, you can ban them if you want. Gnorc, Ripto, or superban, it's all up to you now.

Rename the boards; rename the ranks; reassign the Hunters. Anything you want to do, can be done.

Or you can be sensible and make dS into what you deem "right", if you do not like the current rules or the current boards. Perhaps spam should be completely forbidden, regardless of topic or context? Or should it not be against the rules at all? Maybe Idle Chatter and S&N are too similar... why not merge them?

You could even go full-on Spyro/Skylanders fansite, and delete all off-topic boards. Though, would you change the rules of the remaining boards to fit in with the nonsense and joking of the other boards such as S&N? Make everything within the rules, so long as they are related to Spyro/Skylanders?

And don't forget, you're still a user. How do you interact with the other users? As I mentioned before, do you abuse your powers, or only use them if necessary (such as if a post breaks the rules)? If they say they don't like the new rules, how far do they need to go with their dislike before they are banned, or do they not get banned at all?

You could either be as big-headed as you want, this is your website after all. Or try to be as formal as possible, your position is important, after all.

I'd add some more games, perhaps, like the dragon creator we had somewhere. I'd also program a username change function, but it'd have to go by me first before the change officiates. You can't just make your username another signature. I would bring back the custom titles, but they add on to your current title. I'm not sure if I would continue being friendly on the forums, or make a secret account to post from.

I'd also make Shadmé a mod.

With usernames and custom titles, I'd probably make something similar to a namechange option, but not have it go by me first. Seems like too much effort, if people kept wanting to change names.

Maybe something like you can change your nane forever, but your previous name is kept in brackets next to your new name for a while, and all your previous names can be found in your profile.

I'd also allow custom titles, as well as something similar to flairs on Reddit. Maybe a small flair based on whatever I decide to make the forum based around (might not decide to keep a Spyro/Skylanders theme), next to the custom title.

Like this - I would make my title "Grandmaster", where my Blue Sparx ranking is, and have a Blades "flair" next to it. Rank might still be incorporated, but somewhere else on the display. Otherwise, Gems would be the only way of showing your rank.

As for games, yeah, I'd do something like that. Firstly, I'd reset all gems to 1/4 or so of their current value. Then I'd host a forum game every now and then, and the users will gain/lose gems based on their performance.

As it has been said already, I would like to be more active and take user feedback into consideration! I guess I’d have to take some programming classes on the side, too, because, uh...I don’t know how to run a website.

I'd probably have "April Fools Day" much more often. Just think of whatever crap I can, then mess with the website because I can. Though I wouldn't do anything too drastic or different from the usual, probably just stuff like adding a new joke board for that day or something.

As for the website, I'd probably change the Spyro/Skylanders boards into single boards - all Classic Spyro-related topics on one board, all TLoZ-related topics in one board, all Skylanders-related topics in one board. Perhaps just change General to "Spyro & Skylanders", possibly with subforums for each containing fandom stuff like game ideas.

I'd probably dedicate the site to something else instead. Besides, hardly anyone talks about Skylanders anymore - and if Skylanders get cancelled, with Spyro going down with it, this website would become really inactive. Just like Infinity Guru.

Yeah, perhaps it is unorganized. But if I'm changing the website's theme, it's better than simply getting rid of it altogether. Given that older Skylanders boards (not sure about Classic and TLoZ) barely get any activity, I don't think it'd be too much of a problem, since it wouldn't be so cluttered and the main focus would usually be on the newer games.

Then again, if I wanted to change the entire theme, maybe I should just make a new website instrad. Really, it'd be more of a "gimmick", I think S&N would still be the most active board. Making a new website doesn't guarantee the whole previous userbase will join.

Good thing I'm not admin. I probably wouldn't do a great job when it comes to making new boards and such, and other admin duties. And honestly, I don't think I'd take my position as seriously as I should.

I can admit that I would probably be the end of this site as we know it if I was an admin here. I am way too cynical or even nihilistic person to care about maintaining a good well-informed site so basically there would be no rules and anarchy would reign around here. And of course I would be total jerk once in a while, gnorcing and ritpoing users here and there just for the personal giggles. And since I have some common human decency left in me, I will never take active responsibility around here.

I'd try to actually listen to everyone's opinions and make avatars unlimited. I'd also remove the 2500 post limit. I would also remove the swearing censorship. I'd keep all current Hunters as Hunters and add a few who shows generally good behavior on the forums. I'd change the theme daily for everyone and have the theme be voted. I'd host tournaments for Skylanders Superchargers. Smash Bros, Mario Kart 8, Just Dance, etc.

I'd have certain sections for users who have certain interests, like Pokemon, My Hero Acadcemia, Movies, food, animation and more. Hell, even more unique ones like Sess' obsession with a certain type of male and Pokemon2 and his drag stuff.

Make some special sections for various game franchises including danganronpa, Pokemon, blizzard games, etc

Adjust the rules a bit because they can be vague at times. The spoiler rules especially can certainly be adjusted (No story spoilers until 2 weeks after launch, all other details can be spoiled)


I will also add a chat box internally to the site (even though we have a discord server for the site)

Keep gems but rename it to sparks, and have custom titles


and create an NSFW section (with a no link policy)

To be fair, the Discord server is 100% unofficial. Pixilism made it. Dark probably still hasn't even noticed it's a thing.

...Yeah, TBH I wouldn't completely allow porn. Not spamming it everywhere, at least. Maybe one board dedicated to it in particular, and if it's elsewhere, it needs to be tagged.

- Would try to add custom titles which wouldn't override Sparx Rank display and sit above them.
- Remove the Site Polls, they've just been about Skylander upgrades and favorites as far as I can remember.
- Probably nuke the crap out of the Game pages' comments.
- Make it so superflagging CANNOT be requested. It solves nothing and just creates unnecessary drama.
- Reword some of the rules, notably clarity in regards to the illegal things rule to specify more about what can and can't be discussed, especially with ROMs. And let the censor do its job and rework the offensive language rule to more refer to hate speech and derogatory terms rather than sounding like it talks more against swearing. "Constructive criticism" also seems to pretty much be all but ignored and not enforced. Keep no porn as a rule since so many are posting about it. Not even a special section. There's kids on this forum and age settings can be manipulated. It would only cause a bigger mess than needed.

A fair point, though we've also had more than our fair share of alt accounts on this site and people are liable to lie about the age when joining regardless of whether or not there's actual nsfw stuff to hide.

I've seen that in action before. All it really accomplishes is serving to keep many users in a constant state of fear of bans if they have family who share a computer/device and want separate accounts. This ends with good users getting banned for doing nothing wrong.

I also kind of just don't see the need for an 18+ section as a whole anyway. This is a forum based on a purple dragon barely hanging on on life support. Is it completely necessary to have a section for users to inevitably spam dragon porn and talk about sex in ways that probably gets a bit tmi that few really want to read.

Actually not using proper types of bans cause that. Aka "Router bans" which I have had happen to me before on a really dumb and not so moderated game anyways. IP bans have more of a single device ban. Also Dark already has the proxy check and etc, he's just never really active to the forums anymore.

But yeah I see ya point in the no 18+ thing. Honestly on another place I try to chill at they have 18+ sections, but they still ruled out porn. Like their only purpose is to talk about religion and politics there instead of in front of the kids.
