I think the Jungle Book (1967) is underappreciated nowadays, reduced to "The Bare Necessities" while people forget the more grim tone it was originally to have. Not to mention just how great the artwork and animation was; re-watching now I find it literally breathtaking.

However, underrated? As in reviewed poorly? Well, I enjoyed Dinosaurs and Chicken Little, and I'm surprised Robin Hood wasn't well received by critics. Out of those three though, definitely Robin Hood.

Technically Pixar, but I only just remembered that Bolt existed a few days ago. Did everyone forget about that, or was it just me? Not saying it was good (or bad), just that I forgot it existed until then.

Or it might of not been Pixar. All I remember is that there was a dog with superpowers and it got forgotten really quickly it seems.

It's from Disney, not Pixar.

Ah, thought so. I've never seen it mentioned alongside Pixar movies, but it always reminded me of Pixar though. Probably because I tend to associate Disney's 3D animated movies with Pixar, not sure how many 3D animated movies have been done by Disney alone. Meet The Robinsons and Bolt are two, not sure about any others.

Pixar usually gets much more attention than Disney, in mainstream at least, it seems. Wall-E, Inside Out, Toy Story, etc..

Seconding The Princess and the Frog. No twist villain, no "subverting cliches" without actually making use of it, just a fun adventure with some nice themes.

I would also put down Descendants 1 and 2, but there is actually a strong following for the Descendants franchise.

Robin Hood, Bolt, and Hercules. I’m actually not sure if Hercules is that underrated, but no one ever talks about it anymore so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Monte Carlo was done by 20th Century Fox, not Disney. Pretty sure I heard really positive things about the live action Jungle Book and a lot of people liked it. Most of these are Disney Channel movies which are automatically going to be less known than mainstream Disney films and a few on here were actually good anyway making it hard to call them underrated as it's not that they get hate, rather they're just not as known about.

As for my answer: Atlantis The Lost Empire. I actually really like this movie. I've also heard some rather mixed to negative things about the Haunted Mansion movie which I do quite enjoy.

The Live Action Beauty and the Beast isn't underrated, in fact it's overrated and has a lot of mixed reviews. (I personally hate it because of the scum bag tactics they used to advertise the film and auto-tune Emma Watson's voice. There's just no way you can remake the magic of a near perfect film)

Too bad that it killed 2D Animation in theaters

So they are underrated essentially
Underrated: underestimate the extent, value, or importance of (someone or something).

When people see Disney Channel movies they go "Oh totally is trash, why watch it? It wasnt on the big screen"

Then you ACTUALLY watch it and realize some Disney Channel movies are insanely good. Especially Cloud 9

I can't just choose one.

Princess and the Frog
Fox and the Hound
The Rescuers Down Under
The Great Mouse Detective

Also, if Hunchback of Notre Dame and Robin Hood are considered underrated, I'd pick those. That's debatable, though.

That was Treasure Planet and Sinbad Legend of the Seven Seas. Princess and the Frog was Disney poking the corpse to see if it was really dead, considering how poorly it was marketed.

Oh, ok then. Sucks that 2D Animation is dead in theaters for the most part. They had to market the Spongebob sequel as something other than what it was for it to make any money, which is a darn shame.

Wait, The Spongebob Squarepants Movie 2 wasn't mostly live action? I thought that was an important part of the film. Haven't watched it yet, BTW.

As for my "favourite" underrated Disney movies, I don't really have any. I watched a few when I was younger like Bambi and The Jungle Book, but I can hardly remember anything about either. Apparently, I watched The Jungle Book the most.

The live action scene is only the last part of the movie. It was just the center of the marketing.

Huh. I had a feeling it was. So, how long is it for? I've heard that it took up half the movie, but that doesn't sound quite right, I always thought that scene looked more like 10min or something.

Probably still won't watch it. I'm not that much into Spongebob anymore, only watch some of the older episodes nowadays (and sometimes the first movie) for nostalgia.
