I mentioned it over in the random thoughts thread, but I realized after the fact that I was interrupting a discussion.

But my family and I rocked the Alice in Wonderland theme at the Halloween party on Saturday. A matching 4 and 3 year old as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, complete with the red caps and flags coming out the top, are about the most adorable thing ever, challenged only by the baby girl as the Queen of Hearts. The older two were Mad Hatter and Alice, my wife was the White Rabbit, and I was a Card Soldier (since I would be carrying Her Majesty around the whole time anyway).

I'm glad the olders are still interested in doing a family theme. We probably won't have many more years of it, but the little kids just make it so cute.

Last year the two older boys were Luigi and Mario, the girl was Peach, and the then-two-year-old was Toad, with the huge puffy round hat and red spots. EVERYONE was in love with that little dude. We won the costume contest that year too, but the gal doing the awards whispered to me that it was mostly because of Toad. smilie

Still have no idea how we'll top either of those next year.

Well...
Gen 4 and 5 had almost no way to lower the odds. Sure, Masuda Method was a thing and BW2 had the Shiny Charm, but the odds are still really bad, and Wifi isn’t on the DS anymore.
I can’t argue with you on Gen 6, aside from the fact that you have to have a specific Friend Safari to get a reliable Combee hunting method. Any other way to hunt it is barbaric.
Hunting in Gen 7 is like Gen 6, but with only the Masuda Method.
Salandit is pretty easy to hunt if you know what to do. Get a male Pokémon with Cute Charm (Sylveon is a good pick) and that will give you a 66.7% chance of giving you a female.
In conclusion, Salandit is only more difficult to hunt if you don’t have a Combee Friend Safari. Or you could use the Magikarp swap method and make both of them easier I guess.
