The Everything is Awesome song is supposed to be annoying and stupid. To blatantly set up the status quo for the world and the main character before setting him off on a strange, magical journey. Like, it’s supposed to be a deconstruction of that particular story beat.

As for why the movie’s great? It’s animation for starters, but aside from that, it has some of the best comedic writing I have ever seen in a kid’s film. For every dumb joke for kids, there’s a bunch more clever jokes and nods for adults. It’s got so much heart to it too. I just can’t describe it!

And sure, the plot is cliche as hell, but the characters are so imaginative and fun that it hardly matters. Plus the ending scenes were ****ing phenomenal. Way worth whatever grievances you had with the first few minutes. Watch the whole thing before you write it off as another stupid movie for children, please

i cringe whenever i see a voice demo reel with heavily edited audio. its the equivalent of sending in a song demo heavily edited when its purpose is that its suppose to be your true voice to be edited to sound better later on. youre suppose to show how good your acting is not how silly your voice sounds with a filter

Inside Out if it were the Pokémon metagame
Joy is an emotion who refuses to use anything other than one type. The other emotions are all like “you need to add more diversity to your team” and she’s not listening to them. One day, Joy and Sadness (who only uses her favourites) get sucked into non-competitive stuff and Joy is like “get me away from these casuals” until she meets Bing Bong, who she used to admire, but then realised that Charizard sucked in the meta. Meanwhile, the other emotions try to figure out what Eviolite is and why Chansey is better than Blissey. This causes many salt wars online until Joy and Sadness rush in yelling “Gen 7 Talonflame.” Then everyone laughs and they all live happily ever after. I guess.

Wow, I cracked my phone for the first time ever in years of using them. And it's just an annoying chip on the corner, far from the touch screen.

Note to self, don't put the phone in places where I might slip and step on it

NeoGAF is a forum with a lot of people who pretend to know about video game development and have the moral ground to harass devs en masse, then blame evil mysoginist gamers who totally aren't them for it.
