It looks like a direct to DVD movie that from Non big animation company. Surprised, this is coming from Sony known for making such actually good movies as the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatball films and Hotel Transylvania 1 & 2 They also did the movie that have yet to apologize for, The Emoji Movie.
Frankly, this movie looks like it could be cute. Maybe I just have some sympathy for it coming from a Catholic/Protestant family.

how? it has the exact same formula. the male lead who is probably an outcast (Bo) the smart female lead who is annoyingly smarter than everyone else (Ruth) the comic releif character who doesnt do anything and is useless. (Dave) also nice job coming up with biblical names for your 3 main characters. (With ruth being the only biblical name)

honestly people complaining about the emoji are just a bunch of bandwagoners. Sure it's a product made to advertise something but a lot of moves these do that. marvel movies are nowadays just trailers for future movies, Lego movies are mad to sell Legos, etc. the only problems with the emoji movie is that it is just a generic kids film like normal of the north and whatever movie is being shown here. Yet movies such as the one featured in the topic are gonna be ignored for the rest of time and the emoji movie will live on as a crappy concept that got turned into a movie just because it features emojis. people who complain about the emoji most likely didn't see it either.

That's because the Emoji Movie has no entertainment if you are above the age of 8. These movies sell their products by making it look extremely cool and being a fun experience on its own; instead of shoving down an emoji dance down your thoats so the kid will recognize it in an ad a few weeks later.
