why in the trailer ninjini laughed an evil laugh? usuly only villains do that, allso i am preety sure she attacked SE with magic orbs. i understand that the show lore is not in sync with the game lore but eric will not turn one of the very first skyladners to a villain, right?...

but still its nice to finaly see the trailer, and turns out we will get the hydra aswell, man i cant wait to watch this.

Maybe she's been mind washed or something. by the end of her episode(s) she'll likely turn good again. No way she'd stay evil.

Drow Goliaths were seen in the previous season.

....THO, is that truly Malefor? Size sure matches, but his signature thing in all 3 of his designs is a set of 5 horns, this thing of nightmares only has 3 and one is a forehead spike.

i guess you are right, there has to be a reasonable explanation for it. there is no chunce that eric will make one of the giants to witch sides.

I think that Ninjini is either brain washed by dream catcher or influenced by malefore.
Talking about malefore he looks cool and everything, but why is he black ? and his design is very boring i excepted him to look more like he did in the comics , but that might of have been expensive.

KingMed, it's Malefor. Silent R. Sorry to nag but you've been saying this for several years.

The second screenshot shows him slightly purpler, so this might actually be his armorless appearance from the current canon. The euphemism "up in smoke" used for what Hex did to him is pretty literal.

Also, in that Fisticuffs shot, you can tell Sprocket is having that E12 feeling already. Odd that her goggles glow green rather than black, tho.

The hydra looks small compared to spyro's adventure , maybe it's something that we haven't seen before.

It's not the same lore. The Hydra seems to be non-hive mind dragons who aren't too happy.

The Hydra is compleatly different from the game...

Okay now that I calmed down here are some ideas I have for what might happen (btw the trailer for this season raises hype 20 times more than the first one)

A lot of Spyro development and lore on dragons in general.

Ninjini episode? Even if she doesn't get an episode of her own it seems she will be evil at least when she appears (It's possible she just broke free from her bottle so who can blame her).

Cynder and Spyro will probably unlock some hidden powers and their backstory obviously changed.

Kaos seems to gain a lot of power which will lead to freeing more villains and Sprocket seems to be involved in fighting against them.

And of course Malefor, really have no clue what happened or will happen. Hex could've defeated him before or she will in this season (or she just won't be involved at all but then I will rant) and maybe her episode is one of the last ones and Malefor returns at the end. Or if Hex really isn't involved Cynder and Spyro will defeat him.

Who knows! The season hasn't even come out yet. Maybe they grow more powerful later on and match the SSA design. I'm fine with it for now.

I think that there is a lot more than what we have seen in the trailer...i think that Eric mentioned 8-10 new characters this season and we got :

7. Brock
8. ????
9. ????
10. ????
I rember asking him if we are going to get characters that aren't in the games and he said yes...I don't know if that implies to malefor and I sure hope that the dragon king isn't the only character that we're getting that isn't from the games.

Goliath Drow

Goliath Drow, the name of the actual enemy...?

We also saw Arkeyan Shield Juggernauts on the first season so they don't count as new either.

Oh god those Juggernauts were annoying in Giants...

Fun fact, not only they debuted in S1, they also appeared in the same scene. Goliaths appear in E2 as well but it's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it shot.

So I guess that goliath drow doesn't count

HMMM... I went and looked back at that S3 leak. What if this is Strykore we're looking at, and not Malefor? SE's line is cut off but it kinda sounds like she's saying Strykore copied Mally's appearance and voice, or the other way around.

If this is Malefor it makes more sense than having one that looks more like the over-the-top one from the comics.

It's still a huge demon dragon that bleeds lava/has lava insides, tho.

Did you also noticed that the book in the trailer has pages torned off?

The missing book pieces could either be an important part of the season or not. Does beg the question how they went lost in the first place and if they were so important. Did it wear down? someone steal it? Another idea that we can only speculate on.

Or it's about Malefor because of the LOS lore.

Or the obvious answer that keeps going over my head during my mad brainstorm.

Some people speculating that they might pull a Darth Vader which would definately be too silly. Even in original lore Malefor was generations over generations apart from Spyro, and the ambiguity the creators planned was directed at Ignitus instead. Should be book be about him, this would be before the Great War, and by the ages they threw around, it was easily over 40 years before the events of the show and a bit of a huge stretch to have him be related to the little guy.

That and this Malfor seems to be a spin on the IDW version where he's the undead dragon king and no full on link with Spyro. But you never know what they may pull.

He very much is linked to Spyro. The TFB Skylanders writers decided to leave his origins ambiguous though, so David had to make Eon throw some vague 'well we don't really know if you fought him before, doesn't matter'.

Right the IDW version has does have links but it's not the same for the academy version correct?

Off topic, but was Ignitus supposed to be Spyro's father in LoS?
