The de Blob series has come to Steam recently. I only played one of them but I spent an hour in the first level as I was overwhelmed by how good it was. Kinda like SWAP Force; never went back to it because I didn't want to be disappointed by whatever the future held, as it couldn't top the first bit.
Anyway, here's one of my many forgotten games: Why save the Princess when you can steal her statue instead? Wario's loot is nabbed by Captain Syrup (AKA the best named villain in the world) and he has to rescue the love of his life: GOLD! Wario games aren't about social commentary, ideological statements or brain-frazzling puzzles but pure unadulterated greed! Where Mario leaps and bounds, Wario stomps and crushes all in front and below him with awesome strength and an even more awesome desire to win back what's rightfully stolen! Wario - because farting is still funny. |

you, uh... remember Katamari Damacy?
My aunt had that on her PS2, and we used to all play together when we were at her house. An absolute blast! |

I really like de Blob. I should try to play 2 sometime.
Also Crash of the Titans DS. I seriously recommend checking this one out if you haven't liked the console version. But please for the love of God don't play Mind Over Mutant DS.

That game was such a big letdown compared to Crash of the Titans' DS version... Anyway, here's a few: Aaaaah, those were definitely simpler times... More to come.

No, but I knew the art style for the intro was familiar: they are Eledees (or Elebits) developers.
Time for more obscure nostalgia:

Oooooh, glad to see someone else know about Scaler!
Wait, the Wii version of Okami is a bad port? How so? |

Never found Mysteries of the Karakuri, played a bit of it thanks to an illegal copy which unfortunately had pretty serious problems.
Seemed pretty cool, thought. Same goes for Okami, played the Wii version and absolutely loved it, had no idea there were PS2 and PS3 ones as well. Scaler had probably the same impact as Spyro on my younger self; it heavily influenced my drawing style and character design. Loved it to the point of confusing the early concept arts for sequel teasers, was very young and pretty confused back then. Guess it's time for more hidden gems (I think):

La Pucelle Tactics
Another obscure Nippon Ichi Software (developers of Disgaea) game, made before they even had NIS America for localizing their games. I only found out about it somewhat recently, myself, but it's pretty good. Random fun fact: Croix has the same voice actor that Dr. Krankcase had in Skylanders Trap Team. Coincidentally, they both use guns.

That was one of the few post-PS1 Disney movie tie-in games that was brilliant! Pretty much any Disney game on PS1 was at worst decent, and at best awesome (see anything from the "QTE: The Video Game", more commonly known as Monsters Inc. to Toy Story 2). Here's another contribution of mine: It's not as forgotten as many other titles here, but it's a shame it's not talked about as much as it could be. Whenever the subject is raised the phrase "it's Worms but with Pigs" comes up (followed by them being summarily blammed), and then discussion melts down into us-vs-them. Despite its clunky controls and much trial and error in advanced weapons, the game did 3D team tactics well, and the hitboxes are surprisingly well done for the time. It's hard to recommend now if you've not played it, but those who did at the time will easily put up with the frustration of bad controls so they can name pigs after their friends and watch them die. Hogs of War: The original Roguelike, only Rogue came first but Hogs of War is better so Rogue can go back to Blighty. The genre is now called Hogslike. |

This should be fun. Rip they're all for PS2. Everyone remembers the first one from the PS1 slightly better, never played the first one but this one is super cute. Those Doops can go **** themselves. Not sure how much forgotten these are, but there you go.
The latter is a big chunk of my early childhood and the former two are hidden gems I discovered just a couple years ago: I was amazed by how good Kung Fu Panda was; almost feel guilty for all the times I kept asking myself "when is this going ro start becoming bad?"

*Looks at first post* YES YES F-BOMBING YES Aside from the high tedium the game contains, the game was so original and underrated. Pretty good for a hidden gem on the Wii.

Hope you are trolling especially on a website called Darkspyro....what are you doing on a Spyro fansite if you don't know Spyro?I really hope it was a joke because it's not funny at all especially with some peoples who still care about Spyro and know about the greatness they used to have with the classic Spyro trilogy especially. Before Skylanders there was Spyro the Dragon and I'm shocked and saddened no one ever remember it.I refuse to let the franchise I came for on this forum die such an horrible death mocked and forgotten,Spyro will rise again.
