Ordinarily, I wouldn't really care like that recent Ghostbusters movies but this time, the shoe fits when an all-female remake of Lord of the Flies, of all things, is a bad... bad... bad... bad... bad idea.

I say it's a bad idea because Lord of the Flies has always been about the problems with patriarchy, male violence and toxic masculinity. What's next? An all-female remake of Fight Club?

Actually it's one man named William Golding and he said women are better than men because an all-men society would quickly fall apart just like the boys descending in violence and murder when left alone.

Toxic masculinity does make an ideal way of living, especially all men are expected to be violence, emotionally-dead and sexually-aggressive at all times. Provoking violence to be the alpha male only causes more problems than fixes any. Just look at what happened to Immortan Joe and how his actions only led to his downfall.

It not bad with Ghostbusters (or at least shouldn't be) because it's about nerds proving themselves among the suits on how to deal with ghosts. An all-female version of what is essentially about toxic masculinity will never work. That's like saying Orange is the New Black to a female-version of OZ because they're both set in prisons, which is a trite observation and a shallow comparison.

I mean, I am absolutly fine with all female casts, there are pretty damn good books out there with all female casts, but the reason I'm dissapointed is not because it's an all female cast, it's because the people working on it are saying that men are just power-hungry, sexually agressive people. Which is not true(well, not all the time.)

Like I am all for equel rights, but this is kind of ridiculous

If you really want to make a movie off of a classic book, make one off of a book that actually has female leads

-To Kill A Mockingbird
-Pride and Prejudice
-Little Women
-Gone With the Wind

Enough with all female remakes. They do it to seem progressive and inclusive but in reality the only way to really promote women in film is to take GOOD IPs made by women and cast GOOD female actors to play GOOD female characters. Not only that but when they shove women into traditionally male roles it just feels more like a young boy letting his sister play with his toys than women being given more/fairer representation.
