Hello there!

I'm the developer behind the fan game "Spyro 4", and I just thought I'd share some stuffs about it here, for anyone that might want to know!

I don't care if I'll sound fanboy-ish or nostalgia-blinded, Spyro is literally my childhood.

You are amazing.
You, and everyone currently busy with Spyro projects like these definitely deserve the biggest compliments possible.
I can only speak for myself, but you are making a dream come true: that's exactly what I would do if I had time and experience.

You perfectly captured the feeling and mood of the original trilogy with your boss and enemy designs, even the music is pretty spot on!

I could go on thanking you for hours, but I feel like there is really nothing more to say.
You rock; keep up your fantastic work and never let your passion go.

Oh hello there!

Fantastic models - especially in the PS1 style. I've always wondered, how are the eyes done, considering they're like 2d floating planes that aren't attached to anything? Are they part of the model or layered on afterwards (if that makes sense. I know nothing about modelling so I'm just curious)?

And on the eye bit... this is something I'm still figuring out the best way to do. With the very first model I had made (moneybags), I wasn't fully aware of what style I was going for in general (high poly/low poly etc.), and didn't realize till after the fact that when I was going to go for the older style, that yes, they are indeed floating single sided planes in front of the models face. And I'm just now realizing I'm probably still doing them a bit wrong lol.

Looking at the Elora post on the Spring Savanna wordpress, it looks like this is the best approach to doing the eyes:




So I'll likely be redoing my models eyes, and probably the rigs for them as well.

Tbh, I think you should've put this in General, b/c Spyro **** gets drowned in all that other stuff when in Fandom these days.

I love the pictures of the environment! It looks like it's straight out of one of the PS1 games! I'll definitely be keeping up to date with all your updates. Best of luck with this project, it looks really promising!

Loking good! Just an observation,Cyreides, you might want to ask a mod to move this to General. While Fandom is a good enough place, people seem to post fangames and spiritual sucessors more frequently there, it might get this thread more attention.

Probably Trix Master 100, I'm not too sure if SpyroD, the other mod of this section, is active. I thiiink other mods can also move topics but then anyone with an orange name works.

Slow on posting stuff lately but here's another preview of what's going on right now

Take your time, game design is no easy feat! Loving the jewels in the wall thing, nice and loyal to the original games (it ain't Spyro if gems aren't planted in the walls. I wish I found money in my walls).
