Everyone pissy that the doctor is a girl now needs to shut the **** up. It's pissing me off to no end that everyone's judging it and saying doctor who is dead because the "****ing feminazis are at it again" like they're the ****ing illuminati. Why does the gender matter so much? The writing matters. She's still the doctor shes not gonna suddenly shop at lush and kiss boys. Also the Facebook page lost 3 million likes??? What babies. They hate change so much and the fact that girls finally have a strong role model in media after 50 years of male doctors, girls watched the male doctors why can't guys enjoy a female one? My favorite argument is "what's next? is wonder woman gonna become a bald man?" no, because her being a woman is part of her character, the doctor is an alien who has evolved past gender stereotypes and can regenerate. Like Jesus, honestly good riddance to the people who are mad cuz they're misogynistic assholes --------

I've also seen a lot of people say "what's next, Jane Bond?????" Some people are really stupid, but the majority seems fine with it. I saw a strawpoll somewhere with couple thousand votes, 48% said they liked it, and I think 30 something percent were neutral, with less than 30% disliking it. There have also been a ton of people saying things like "I'm not sexist but..." and then they proceed to say something incredibly sexist and stupid. I've also seen a lot of people say things like "no, the Doctor has always been played by a man before, he can't be played by a woman!!!!!!1" I've even seen a few people (only one or two) saying things like "oh great, now the Doctor is trans. I won't be watching because those stupid lefties at BBC are spreading liberal propaganda!!!!!!!11" Now that this topic is somewhat active again, I'd like to point out that Big Finish is currently having a great sale, where you can get 50% off any eight Doctor stories, including Dark Eyes and Doom Coalition box sets. It ends July 21st at midnight BST. I'd also like to point out something very useful I found out. Apparently Big Finish has a spotify account, where you can get listen to the first 50 monthly stories for free. They also have the first season of The Eighth Doctor Adentures, and The Fourth Doctor Adventures, and lots of others. Here's a reddit post with a list and links to them. I found this literally the day after I spent thirty dollars on the first few 8th Doctor stories from Big Finish.

Allons-y!
What I've noticed is that a lot of the people who are complaining about having a female doctor are people that don't even watch the show or watch it very casually. A common complaint it that "it goes against the lore, how are they gonna explain this plot hole!?" where it's actually been well established in the lore that the Doctor can be any race or any gender. The master did it in series 8, The General did it in series 9 and now it's The Doctor's turn in season 10. From what I can see, most people that are actually fans of the show and know the lore are in full support of the 13th doctor! |

I'd definitely recommend watching season 10, I personally enjoyed season 9 but I know a lot of people that got bored during series 7-9 so stopped watching the show then began watching it again in series 10 and really enjoyed it. The chemistry between Bill and Twelve is fantastic in this series, I definitely think that the TARDIS team is much better this time around with having three members (The Doctor, Bill and Nardole), I definitely think that three works better than two. Without giving away any spoilers, there is a return of a character from the Tennant era which works really well. The final two episodes especially are some of the best Doctor Who episodes ever so I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot! |

I agree that three TARDIS members definitely works better than two. I wonder why they don't have two companions more often? I never watched the classic series but my understanding it usually had two or more companions. You'd think two companions would be the baseline and then we'd get occasional variations from there.

I met Matt Lucas on Saturday (Nardole) and had a talk with him about Doctor Who and some of his other work (particularly Little Britain and Come fly with me) and he was telling us that Doctor Who was probably the most fun thing he's worked on, a lot of his dialogue in series 10 was actually made up by him on the spot

Might give it a watch with the new doctor however I expect major improvements. Perhaps an apperence of myself would do the show good. Maby as her new feisty companion with attitude.

Fixed~
I think this will be amazing for the show. I've always felt that episodes could use an extra 15 minutes, specials always feel that little bit more immersive being an hour because that small amount of time is enough to flesh out any supporting characters for the episodes and have an extra 5-10 minutes wrapping up the story which is normally in just the last 5 minutes in Doctor Who so this will just work in the show's favour. 10 episodes, although 2 less than the last few series and 3 less than 2005-2013 I can't help but feel that this could mean that there will be less 'filler' episodes as well as having a bigger budget to every episode. Besides, with every episode being an extra 15 minutes that will add a further hour and a half to the series which is the equivalent to 2 episodes on series 10 so really we are getting the same screen time as previously. New shade of blue? That's expected, it normally changes with every show runner anyway. New Tardis interior? Again, expected, each Tardis interior has lasted between 3-5 years in recent years so it's due a change. New title sequence is expected aswell as each new doctor (with the exception of series 2) has been given a new one. And finally, each Doctor in new who has been given a new sonic screwdriver to work with (even the 10th Doctor's sonic is slightly different to 9's). So all in all it's just all great news in my opinion. |

Is there a source for this other than this article from the Mirror? Because I'm pretty sure it's a tabloid and has made **** up in the past, so I wouldn't take that as absolute truth yet.

It's only source is that same Mirror article though. Not saying it isn't true (and I hope it is), but it's not exactly proof if every site's source is that one article.

Big Finish is having a huge sale on the main range of stories #51-100 because they're not going to make any more physical copies. They also have a deal until where you can save 10% on anything (including bundles) if you use the code MROCT2017 when you check out. The deal ends on the 21st at midnight U.K. time.
EDIT: This also includes pre-orders. So if you're interested in any upcoming releases, now's the time to pre-order them. Pre-releases almost never go on sale beyond the minor pre-order discount. I'm kind of pissed because I bought the Doom Coalition set 1-4 just 2 weeks ago, and Big Finish doesn't offer refunds or store credit.

Double post because this is big news: the 13th Doctor's companion's have been announced.
Also, those rumors from the Mirror have apparently been confirmed as being partially true, with the episodes being 50 minutes long, with the first episode of series 11 will be an hour long.

I love the new outfit, happy with the long coat look again.
As for the TARDIS, it reminds me a a combination of the classic TARDIS and the 2005-2009 TARDIS. |

I'm baffled as to how they ****ed up what side the "Pull to Open" panel's handle is on, and why the pillar things on the corners have notches in them. I like it, but the phone panel being on wrong will bother me until we get a new prop. It looks pretty good and kind of feels kind of weirdly steampunk-ish to me.
I don't like the suspenders the Doctor is wearing, and I really don't like those pants. The suspenders being yellow just makes them stand out too much, and those pants are not fitted and have no way to support them. And with how they're rolled up, I guess the new TARDIS is prone to flooding. In fact, I think I might now absolutely hate the pants if they weren't being worn like the Doctor is about to tread through a pond.
