So since there is no Skylanders game this year, I'm planning on buying Spyro's Adventure, since it's the only game I don't have. Any spyro's characters you guys think will be worth while playing as?

I still never understood how apparently Double Trouble is super strong. Maybe I'm not playing him right.

Personally, I found my strongest to be Cynder, Camo, and Drobot. I like Camo mainly because of his soul gems that allows self-healing, which isn't that useful in battle but if you have time to break between battles, he can get himself to full health. Cynder is my personal favorite, especially with the shadow strike upgrade path, and Drobot is just a killer when you upgrade his laser beams. I've seen someone beat Kaos using only Drobot, though I haven't done it myself.

The only other I can think of is Trigger Happy on the path when his bullets bounce off walls. He's overshadowed by Drobot, but he can still take out a bunch of enemies if he's in an enclosed space. If there aren't any walls, however, you actually have to aim. And that's no fun.

I remember wanting to get Wham-Shell for the longest time because his Soul Gen showed him easily taking out a Mage Spell Punk. THOSE WERE THE BANE OF MY CHILDHOOD

Flameslinger was my most effective fire skylander, but it could have been my bias towards archers at the time. Really, I didn't have a "most effective" for most of the elements. All I used were Cynder, Flameslinger, Trigger Happy, Stealth Elf, and maybe Spyro once or twice.

I was originally only planning to only have the characters used in the starter packs (Dark Spyro, Stealth Elf, Ignitor, Spyro, Gill Grunt, Trigger Happy) but decided to buy Eruptor, Boomer, Zap, Hex, Wrecking Ball, and Dino-Rang because I couldn't beat Creepy Citadel. I eventually got all 32 characters + 5 variants. Drobot was easily my favourite and most played.

But now I really wish I stayed with just the Starter Pack Skylanders. Things would be a lot better now if so.

I'm not worried about the figures as collectible, I only got them so I could play as them. Besides the Minis, which I own 5 of (Bop, Terrabite, Eye Small, Hijinx, and Trigger Snappy). A few of my non-Mini Skylanders are broken, like Slam Bam being split in two (torso and legs).

When it comes to collectibles, I used to collect Gormiti and Gogos. I liked both, but overall I preferred Gogos. I have over 400 of them IIRC, with at least 5 rares and 10 limited editions. I even have the DS game too (which was probably the last thing I collected).

My overall favourite is (pink) Heled, although I've had a few other favourites before.

You might have guessed it for me, but I collect dragons. Mostly figurines and plushies, but I also have a lot of Lego dragons (including the Ninjago Lightning Dragon, my personal favorite) and three puppets.

I was considering selling off my Skylanders set, but I want to keep the dragons I've collected, plus a few that I just don't want to get rid of. I used to be a collector of alternate colors. I have that one legendary three-pack with Ignitor and Slam Bam, plus the dark Trap Team starters, Polar Whirlwind, Jade Flashwing, and Gnarly Tree Rex.

Collection-wise, I like collecting small things (like Gogos) or buildible things like the LEGO Mixels (RIP, although some of the final sets looked terrible. Wasn't one of them literally a drum set thing?).

I also tried building some Fire Emblem models out of LEGO once, including a ballista and minifigure-sized rendition of Awakening's Prologue map. I was also planning on making HP bars and dice so it would be playable. Now, I only a custom map and these minifigures:

The thing is to get to the upper Path and spam the damn beam. Occasional magic explosions in case you're rounded by enemies.

Can't Drobot do like 22 ranged damage per attack ((9x2)+(2x2)) on the upper path at several attack per second, making it 66 DPS or something? And as I said, it's ranged? That's OP.

Meanwhile, Chop Chop is struggling with his relatively slow 20-damage close range primary attack... Although, his tertiary is much stronger (but much harder to use reliably).

SSA is just really unbalanced. So are most Skylanders game, and I think SI is the worst offender. Switch from your generic Magic Sentinel or whoever to certain pre-SI Skylanders, and suddenly the game becomes several times more difficult. Near impossible, in some cases.

Yeah SSF is easily the most balanced, maybe SSC too but I didn't play that much and Skylanders had a much less significant role in that b/c vehicles.

But since I have so many Skylanders, I don't care much because it's kind of like a difficulty setting beyond Easy-Nightmare. Different levels of power are what makes the different Skylanders interesting to me, since most Skylanders cam easily be divided into a few categories. Some Skylanders are really similar.
