From what I understand, those people believe racism/sexism to only come from the race/sex with traditionally more power. But by restricting others from doing things, you're putting the power in the other race/sex's hands. Making a restriction of any kind gives the restricters power over the restricted, so it's racism/sexism.

Reminds me of the time when a visiting writer wrote a romantic sister-brother love subplot into a Digimon episode, and other people on the team just went "Yeah, that'd be nice" and silently kept going with it. It ended up becoming one of the most memorable Digimon episodes ever.

I think it's even implied that the two characters had kids after the end of season two, since neither of them have partners (the only ones not to) but they have children that look exactly like them.
