Both Spell and Sess should cool down a little bit. For someone who's GB claims "I'm generally a relaxed, easy-going kind of guy" you calling someone garbage isn't very easy-going.

The waifuification of Fire Emblem can definitely seem dodgy to earlier fans and I get why. It coupled with the increasingly easier modes can be seen as the franchise selling out and focusing more on fanservice and otakus than people who care to play the actual game.
That said it's also important to remember that if not for the casual mode and more appealing characters and features for wider audiences, Fire Emblem would literally be dead.

I can't fault anyone for having an issue with the increasingly sexualized or waifuized(?) characters and marriage functions, and fear that it could go to an extreme (those bunny outfits in Heroes feels like it's tiptoeing to the edge). That said I also can't act like I have a problem with it when

A. Awakening is the game that brought me to the franchise.
B. Camilla is easily among my favorite characters.

Me, an Intellectual: Fire Emblem doesn’t need to be saved. Awakening saved Fire Emblem. Awakening is the entire reason we got Fates as fast as we did. Yes, Fates wasn’t the best game, and it had a pretty terrible localization in the west, but Fates was Nintendo’s test ground to see what works and what doesn’t. Since localization handled by Tree House was pretty terrible, they’re going back to having 8-4 doing the localization. Awakening brought in a surge of new fans to the IP, and Fates was geared towards those new fans to see if that’s what makes the game sell. Awakening outsold Fates by 0.20 million copies, and is still the reason why we have Heroes and are getting Echoes, Warriors, and the unannounced Switch title in 2018.

In reality you haven't lost a damn thing, and you still have the same capability to work with what you have than you had before. It's only in your demoralized state of mind that you think yourself unable to succeed.

So keep working on your problems and don't forget to forgive yourself for not being perfect. There are many paths to personal stability and integrity, and suddenly dumping all your problems and becoming an impervious superhuman being isn't a realistic one. We're all just people, after all.

You're welcome. It's not going to be easy but it's going to be worth it. If you've lived with anxiety a long time, even smaller changes to how you see things will affect you a lot.

I was very anxious as a teenager myself. Around age 14-17 I was absolutely sure I would never amount to anything because of my awkwardness. I never considered myself dumb, just kind of inward and inexperienced, I guess. It all just changed with age and experience.

It's a huge cliché, but generally speaking, if you are still young things will get better in the future. Not only because you will change, but the people around you will also change. High school is especially crappy, but it's like the deepest part of a river: once you get past it you already know that you're going to get across.

Okay I'm sorry Samius but I'm not gonna let this misinformation and false hope stand. Anxiety is not a river it is a constant raincloud that follows you wherever you go. Clearly you have no idea what it's like dealing with diagnosed depression or anxiety. No. High School is not "The deepest part of the river" That's utter bull****, 100%. It's hard to come to terms but your anxiety will follow you your entire life, but it's like someone who's lost a limb, they learn how to live and survive and cope. Embrace that you have these issues, don't pretend they'll get better later on. My last relationship I was so happy, she loved me for me, told me how attractive and funny i was all the time, but I still felt like I was drowning, I was never good enough, I would NEVER be good enough for her, I pushed her away because how could someone like that ever love someone like me? I mean I'm untalented and hideous and a loser.....That's what my brain kept telling me. I hate everything about myself, and it's hard even when you do try to love yourself because your anxiety and depression try to tell you otherwise. You need to know that your issues are lying to you, you are NOT a loser, you belong. you matter. you are important. I know you are. Don't let it take over, don't let it win, it's going to be painful, it's going to be difficult, it's going to be impossible at times. But you need to believe in yourself, you need to at least acknowledge that you are not as worthless as you think you are. Your anxiety does not define you. Don't let it. Don't let it control you. I believe in you.
