Finally got to playing Shovel Knight. Really nice game! I was expecting it to have controls around the level of Battleblock Theater or something, but no, it's easy when you're taking your time and not doing crazy frame skips in speedruns.

I've been playing Wind Waker for a while but it keeps finding ways of making me feel dumb. It's always a puzzle I overcomplicate, too.

But, for the spin-offs... Kart and & Luigi are the ones to trust. The rest is unpredictable.

Well Wart is just a standard evil guy with no crazy lore behind him, Geno is pretty out there for a Mario character.

And no, giving the Koopalings actual dialogue/personality is not enough to make up for that. Bowser completed his "character arc" from comic relief in SS/PiT to generic, evil Big Bad of Paper Jam. Let Alpha Dream push him aside for a unique villain next time.

So much could've done with the fact PM is a sub-universe to & Luigi, especially since Beanbean Kingdom is part of the storybook, and who's to say that the recurring characters aren't written there as well.
