I avoided Cynder syndrome, but I remember a looot of people here and in art sites with horrible amalgamations of it as usernames. Most had to change after it finally hit that maybe LoS isn't a literary masterpiece.

i think most registered with that*** name not because xXCynderXx is a great username, but rather because we all thought cynder was totally epic character. "OMFG U GUYZ SHE'S A DARK DRAGON WHO GETS TURNED GOOD AND SHE SHOOTS POISON AND MAYBE SHE'LL KISS SPYRO OR SOMETHING!!"
pretty much the same line of logic i used for my name. i thought carmelita was the coolest character ever since she was a female cop who had a taser-gun and she could jump real high.
