I've seen a lot of rocks in weird places around and immediately thought "Oh look, another Korok."

I honestly feel that some guy on youtube is a little extreme with the whole "spoofer" community of Youtube, he hasn´t changed unfortunally, like if it annoys you those videos to death why you keep watching them? I honestly that community is overhated or pandered to death i´m not in there defense but like I get it, there videos are not good, but calm down internet, you can´t do anything to stop them. And they don´t ruin your favorite game,show,etc, fandoms do it all the time.

For the first time in a long time for literally no reason at all I bought a Lego set. It was fun.

Not anime but possibly in the same ballpark:

Went to a brony convention in 2014. Hot summer day and some people cosplayed and looked like dorks but there wasn't any horrifying smells (at least nothing bad enough to remember nearly three years later). At worst it was probably stuffy but even then the convention was in an old movie theater with a large lobby.

That said the people can also be pretty cringe. Maybe it was a special case for me because bronies can take it even farther, but there was a lot of meming and referencing that wasn't particularly funny and could even get obnoxious (if they repeated or yelled it so others could hear their wit). One of the vendors I bought prints from no joke had a fedora and no joke tipped it when I took a photo. And given some stuff I've heard and seen about other conventions I wouldn't be surprised if such stuff is the norm elsewhere. So maybe brace yourself for cringe.

People were reasonably nice but were more likely to keep to themselves or the friends they already know. I didn't do myself any favors by being the quiet one but the only one who was moderately kind and sociable was one of the vendors who let me sit around while I charged my phone (he also had an Oculus on hand, so that was my first VR experience). Chances are if you're more sociable you may make friends and have a better time, but do be aware that you're still with a good few introverts who may be coming out of their shell this time only because it's an interest they care about.

****'s expensive. Don't come in with an empty wallet if you don't want to leave with empty hands.
Also don't come with kids when you know there's a loud rave coming up.

Autographs also aren't the cheapest. Depending on who you get you can strike up a conversation but, again, I had the sociability of a paper clip at the time so I made practically no attempt to really say anything to Nichole Oliver outside of "thank you". I was lined up, got to who I wanted, got my signature, and bolted. When I tried to talk again after to one of the others I was told by security they're packing up to go so I was denied.

I think the experience is going to be what you make of it. I was alone and shy so while I had a nice time and spent way too much money, I also didn't have quite the blast other people seem to have when they go. I wouldn't go back, mostly because I can't bring myself to care about MLP anymore. But I want to finally go to NYCC this year and hopefully have a better time now that I've learned how to open my mouth.

Go with friends or go with the goal of making them, and go because you're interested in what's going to be there, not just because you want to go to a convention. You'll likely have a grand time.

And again, have money.

Yeah, crowded, sorta loud. Fun as long as you know how to talk to peeps.
