I tried feeding them to my dog and even he didn't like them, he still ate them but he didn't like it.

I would if it wasn't always left with the front end of the loaf. Everyone is always touching it while attempting to get a less crusty piece.

Used to like eating them on their own when I was a kid. Nowadays, I have them with soup or use them to make cheese on toast.

Dipping them in soup and feeding them to the birds is their only true use.
