As seen in the above link, Club Penguin is confirmed to be closing on March 29 2017 in place for Club Penguin Island, a new club penguin game. I've been playing for over seven years, and I will never forget the great times with this game.

The original was already full to the brim with pay to win by its last year, and they removed tons of free content. I don't expect this 3D version to be any better.

there's a pay to win? i thought it was just a game where you walk around and play mini games and talk to probably 43 year old men

I haven't played in a LONG time, but I remember 60%ish of clothing/furniture being locked behind membership, and some minigames not even allowing you to play past certain levels if you didn't pay.

ah ok. i remember the clothes and igloo items but not minigames. i also haven't played in a long time.

God I remember so mych from this game. Played for 9 years. I remember back at the 3rd (or 4th) anniversary party when the toys were announced and I had my dad drive me to Toys R Us the morning they came out to get as many plushes as I could. I remember all the old mascot events, the announcement of the first DS game and playing through that and Herbert's Revenge getting all the exclusive items transferred to my account (amazing). EPF, destruction of the PSA by Herbert, Coins for Change, babies (god I hated it so much but loved it too.) I used to have so many friends play this and began to make online friends to the point where we made a Xat chat to talk and hang out in. I miss the friends I made back then, it was fun. One of the moments I loved was finding out the PenguinStorm client and playing around with it, and having fun with the client-side hacks. Playing CardJitsu was amazing, especially grinding the first week that it came out to get the black belt and becoming one of the first black belts was a great moment, tons of publicity in the servers I'd play. I'm going to miss this game, definitely a huge part of my childhood.

Yeah, people run custom servers like iCPv3 (just an example, forgot of any current ones) but it won't have the same feel since the owners usually don't run scheduled events.

Same as Neopets; just in case anyone is afraid of their account there as well. You CAN appeal with a ticket if your inactivity isn't too crazy, but over 8 years they usually purged everything related to it ever, and can't recover it.

I remember getting a bunch of those card game card packs to unlock them in-game. I still have the cards, even though I don't remember the rules. I got a box to hold them, and even that wasn't enough.
