Skylanders Academy Renewed for Season 3

We're still a long way off from the release of the second season but Netflix has already renewed Skylanders Academy for a third season to air in 2018.

Activision Blizzard, Inc. today announced that its Netflix original series "Skylanders™ Academy" has been renewed for a third season. Production on the third season of "Skylanders Academy" - the first television series developed and produced by Activision Blizzard Studios - will begin in February, with animation again created by the renowned TeamTO studio in France.

In the press release it was also announced that Felicia Day (The Guild, Supernatural and Buffy the Vampire Slayer) will be joining the cast as "a new cadet at the Academy with a mysterious past".

Has a release date for Season 2 been announced yet?
Also, my girlfriend is a huge Skylanders Academy fan and has literally watched season 1 almost 6.5 times. When she read this, she began to cry with happiness.

I think it's cool that they renewed Skylanders Academy for a 3rd season, but I still wish someone would make the Legend of Spyro movie.

There's also a small clip of Season 2 at Mon Amiibo's channel. No one new other than the first look at chompy models, but the use of shaders feels much better.

Am I the only one that thinks that handing a show a second season from the start was a weird practice? Like you haven't been shown the first season before hand to say "yeah you can get a second season". Heck I feel the same awkward vibe from the show getting a third season when the second season is not out. Shouldn't people earn seasons from how well the show performs? (Not saying the show is bad. I don't like it, but that should not prevent anyone else from liking it). Aw well.

It is, but it seems to be in response to the first season's ratings which didn't come out until recently. Some articles say it did really well, beating several kids' shows from Disney. Doesn't make that any less risky, but Netflix's taking a lot of them already.

I've had my fear that the show would stop after the second season. I was so happy to see this!
And the picture, man! I'm so happy to see they get reunited. That was one of my fears, too, that they somehow tried to get rid of Glumshanks. I've read a lot of people wasn't exactly happy with Academy Glum, but man, I love that troll!

Anyway, this is great news!
