I don't stay where I'm not wanted so I've decided to leave permanently. I never ever thought that by saying I was leaving for a break or leaving would piss people off when I did return. You guys were my second family, I enjoyed talking with all of you. A few of you I became very close friends with, a friendship that I will always cherish. I've been nothing but saddened about reading how you haven't been feeling well. Wishing I could something to cheer you up but feeling like I'm not worthy or like I don't know what to even say so why should I spout some worthless junk. The only moment of happiness is when I read those post you do here and there because of the fact that you're still here with us. This topic made back in 2015 in particular really hurts me. I didn't really know that people thought of me this way, and I wonder what they think of me now. Like, I'm especially hurt by the people saying I had a mental breakdown and then just abandoned everything. What happened was beyond my control, and I didn't return immediately because my parents prohibited it. I came back just because I could, but I'm probably going to go on for good. I felt that I just needed closure, I guess.

As I recall, some of the last posts made on your other account were very out of character for you. After a couple of days you simply vanished. I'm not sure it was ever fully explained what happened, but the two main theories were your account was hacked or you had some form of breakdown. The circumstances regarding your original disappearance were rather odd and mysterious and when such instances occur, wild theories tend to emerge.

I wasn't in the best mood yesterday to respond, but I'll just say this; a gnorc is no punishment at this level anymore. Doxxing gets you banned in most places because you proved you don't respect other peoples' privacy and will humiliate them at the first opportunity. Like it actually happened.

Bring the issue up with Dark. We contacted him when the Suggestions thread was still open and still haven't heard a word.

Like every time we asked for rules to be clarified a little better? And with the same guy that got a free pass to have multiple accounts from Dark himself? If he won't talk to you guys, imagine an outsider in the situation that's just good friends with Aura.

If enough voices are speaking up there could be a change. Though admittedly I say that just to deflect blame off the mod team, who only did as they could.

I don't even know how to go about this, tbh. "Hey, you should ban the guy that doxxed Aura, a gnorc isn't enough if he's willing to ruin someone else privacy" is a bit blunt...?

It's a difficult position since, at least from my perspective, either both of them doxxed info that they weren't supposed to, or neither of them did, as the info was publicly available and not particularly hard to find.

Through that logical extreme, you either ban both, or neither.

There's the argument that Bob's doxxing is worse because Aura is a less known figure who doesn't usually publicly disclose her information, and that his doxxing was a clear attempt at passive aggression to make a point in a manner it shouldn't have (hence why his suspension is longer than her's). But it's a lot of grey area.

I think there are way more blunt ways of communicating that message. It will involve a lot of stars, but if there's a will, there's a way.

In all seriousness, I also, think that doxxing is a pretty bannable offense, especially when the person in question tried to do it in the sneakiest way possible and with such an easy alibi that it's hard not to see through the ruse. If you aren't gonna ban him now, fine whatever... BUT, I say, if he comes back and has a cow for being suspended, then ban him immediately. No one has the right to complain about being punished for doxxing a person. That's just me, though!

Aura just went to the developers' LinkedIn and posted their current jobs. Yes, a bit intrusive, but she didn't link to them, or mentioned any names that we don't already know.
Though, she also went back and deleted the sentences. He just kept going and also went on to bother her on PMs before blocking her. Trying to intimidate with the name is a huuuge step above.

Also sounds awfully familiar to a situation everyone who needs to know already does on my end, sooo yeah. The entire point of preventing doxxing is saving the victim from being humiliated or intimidated, and even after getting the slap on the wrist, he proved he has no qualms about harassment and will do any mental gymnastics to not take the blame.
Even without the doxxing, he still frequently does that on the Skylanders boards(or see Site Help for some isolated examples). He stops after getting called out so we can't really report over it, but more than once he's been pretentious and digging up **** from other threads to make the other person the culprit despite starting arguments and whatnot. Several times too threads had to be locked or posts removed because the discussion became "but you said this bad thing on the other thread, so you're wrong/can't complain".

Yeah, Aura didn't dox... She went and searched up the public LinkedIn profiles of former TFB staff. That's hardly considered private information since everyone can look at the credits of a video game and look them up. Aura is a bit more difficult to connect the dots because her profile on this website doesn't say her full name at all. Hell, she barely mentions the fact she has a YouTube channel, that's how separate she wants that stuff to be.

I see no equivalence between what Aura was doing and what UB was doing.

Aura had her full name on her dA if you look closely enough, and her dA is fairly easy to find as she has it linked on her account(s).

That said, yes, it's a tad less malicious to find publicly listed info of a game developer and use it to figure out the status of a game series, than it is to passive aggressively drop name hints all around the place in the attempt of bullying another user and making a point. Even without the debate of what is and isn't doxxing, at the very least it's harassment.
