The amount of idiots who think they rule the internet are all hypocrites. They project their faults onto other people and will gaslight them into submission.
The people who love to the use the meme-word "triggered" are bad tempered. When ones express concern for the welfare of others as well as our future, the garbage people love to call them "salty" and "triggered" as their concerns shouldn't be taken seriously but if one speaks ill of Trump, these people are "triggered" and go ballistic. Of course these people refer to me as "essjay doubleyou cluck". For that matter, they're what they accuse "social justice warriors" of doing; demanding for everything to only cater to them.
In these times of Trump, Putin, ISIS, Brexit, re-surged regression and fears of nuclear weapons, you're not "triggered" if you're against all this. You are "triggered" when complain about video games like Gone Home or when women have opinions on video game tropes.
Plus Russia making a reality TV with real life rape and deaths like The Hunger Games is genuinely horrifying. How am I "triggered" for opposing such cruelty?

You DO realize why Trump won right? Cause it's been over a month and you still haven't got it through your head that shot like this makes Trump stronger. Whining about it on the Internet does not and will not help your cause at all.
I hate Trump as much as the next guy, but the man hasn't taken office yet! Calm your tits, fam. |

We know that. But most likely, people are tired of hearing that. I'm not even in the US and I already roll my eyes whenever there's a bunch of news about the newest tweet that upset him or whatever - say good or say bad, **** already hit the fan. Any complaining right now only affects people who have no choice in the matter anymore. Stare too long at the abyss etc etc, complaining is almost as annoying as what I can only call candidate cults that were happening and still are.

No, you're not an idiot. You must remember that no matter how many complaints, no matter how angry a person can get, no matter how many riots there are, Trump was elected President and there is nothing that can be done about it. I did not vote so I can not and will not complain about Trump winning. In all honesty I understand your frustration, do as I do when I'm frustrated, have some Cheesecake, I'm quite sure you'll feel better. |

I suppose you're just doing this to give yourself a pat on the back for being so "virtuous", but it's really starting to seem like an obsession. It's like you've convinced yourself that you're on some sort of a crusade against evil. How detached from the reality are you? Where do you get all your news? Do you just go to 4chan /pol/, grind your teeth in anger towards all the uncensored right-wing banter, and then unleash that anger here? Because sometimes it looks like that's exactly what you're doing. I can't say this as a moderator, so I'm saying it as a fellow darkSpyro user: please do this kind of thing somewhere else. |

We know Trump is bad. The people who make fun of you about it are aware Trump is bad but do it entirely because they know it gets under your skin. For all the avatars these people have had on here, I don't think any of them legitimately like Trump (and if they did, it's most likely just because Clinton was the alternative). The problem is Trump is ALL you talk about. You rarely ever speak on other things and it always comes back to Trump and Brexit. We know these are ****ty things. I can only think of a handful of people on here who genuinely think Trump was for the best. But most of us here were of the opinion that regardless of the four choices presented to us, we were going to be screwed, and came to that conclusion already. I do agree that it's a pretty awful thing for your concerns and issues to be swept under the rug with a "k" or "someone's triggered" reply. But if it's all you're going to talk about, it's all anyone is going to associate you with, and they're going to get real tired when you bring it up yet again. Also no offense but your avatar really doesn't help make these posts seem any less whiny. Believe you me I'm pretty nervous too. I'm afraid of the prospect of a nuke being dropped someday (not necessarily by Trump). I'm afraid of the possibility that the economy tanks. Or that there's more attacks in the world. Or that a conflict begins. Or that I'll have to pay an arm and a leg for college because the government refuses to help me. But these are things that we haven't actually seen happen yet. We don't know exactly what this guy intends to do for the US, since he's had both conservative and liberal opinions past and present (he was previously pro-gun control, only to switch that position to be anti-control during the election to gain more right support). There's no point in warning us about him now that he's won. Save the protest and anger for when something really bad actually is about to happen. Right now things are ok and I guarantee you once Trump or the Republican party tries something stupid the site will be up in arms about it. There's a response for you, since it seems nobody else respects you enough to put any effort in trying. Quote: Samius

you people are awful, StevemacQ's points are all valid and true
Making fun of him is the reason why the term deplorable exists. Go ahead, prove him right Trumpeters. I see people saying that this type of thing is why Trump won, but I don't care. Feelings and emotions matter more than anything else in this world. If you think that making another person feel bad is something you have the right to do, you're a monster. The amount of LGBT oppression in this world disgusts me, and I won't stop my crusade until it's fixed.

@Pika I can only think of four people off the top of my head on this site that supported Trump, and all of them were essentially because they really didn't want Clinton.
LGBT oppression is a lot worse in other parts of the world than it is in the US. Though I am aware that certain parts of the country are less accepting than others, on the whole marriage is legal now. If you want to call people out for apathy, do so. But calling them out for being covert Trump supporters is just not factual. Also a good reason why Trump won is because those white straight males who voted for him may also be tired of constantly being called racist, sexist, and homophobic, and get thrown under the bus as a demographic that doesn't matter. Clinton completely ignored them, even despite how they lost jobs up in the Midwest because big corporations outsourced their labor. Trump actually acknowledged them, so of course they'll lean toward him. And turning around and calling them racist or bigots when they may have voted for him for other reasons REALLY doesn't help turn them toward your cause. This is something Steve should take into account as well. There's a lot of factors that go into Trump winning. I imagine actual racism is among the least common. |

I agree, which is why I said that saying that identity politics is why Trump won is untrue. It's because Clinton didn't reach out towards the people losing their jobs. I highly doubt that anyone went out and voted because of the people calling them racist/sexist/homophobic, because that would be awfully petty for someone to do. There were rational reasons, but the things that happened with Boeing and other things of that nature already shows that Trump might actually be worse for those people than Clinton would. As for the identity politics, voting to spite people seems wrong. I'm not old enough to vote, but I would have voted the way that protects my way of life. Those people would hopefully be doing that despite of the negatives, instead of because they were tired of hearing about my way of life.

I daresay that conversation therapy is, while obviously not on the level of concentration camps because nothing short of Japanese internment camps could be on that level, very close to that point. The hate crimes that have occurred in the past have shaken me to the core. Think back to the Pulse shooting, which I will never forget for the rest of my life. They didn't focus on the people that died, they focused on lambasting religion immediately, using their lives as political pawns. My thoughts on religion is that it can be quite harmful, but I don't believe that everyone should suffer because of one man. According to evidence gathered, it wasn't even solely because of religion, he was a self-loathing person who took it out on others like him. Even with the death of George Michael, the media has treated him like garbage forever. Even now, they say that his "problematic lifestyle" was a major issue with him. He didn't even have AIDS, how would that even happen?

Trump himself, to what I gather, is perfectly fine with LGBT rights and doesn't think the law should be changed now that it's in stone.
Granted, Pence and the Republican co may try to still repel it, and that's a scary prospect, but hopefully it gets blocked hard by others. Pence to my knowledge is the only one who thinks conversion therapy is a good idea. Also maybe I just didn't follow the news that heavily but I don't recall anyone focusing on the religious aspect of the shootings. I just remember a lot of talk in support of LGBT individuals as a whole, and how what happened was a plain simple hate crime regardless of religious or political affiliation. |

The only thing to fear is just how much Trump himself will run the show. It's not entirely impossible to believe he'll offload a lot of the work to Pence and his cabinet while he holds the title.
If that happens then yeah there may be some grounds to be afraid of rights being taken away. |
