Here's the situation... I have $30 in iTunes credit. I want to get into a TV show by buying the first two seasons. Only exceptions are that it can't be animated or on Netflix

I think I need to clarify a little bit... I have Netflix. I'm looking specifically for shows to buy on iTunes. This topic has become immensely useless anyway since I have already gone with Game of Thrones

Is the show supposed to be this weirdly paced?

And I've only seen the majority of season 1 but yeah it feels a lot like monster of the week.

that's mainly how all CW shows are but it finds its groove more around season 2
just bear with me it's good i promise

it's like that in season one but then becomes way more character driven and deals with way more emotional impact later on
then monster of the week episodes largely become filler

I'm still gonna stick with it cause I want another cool superhero show to watch, but the pilot episode was super weird

It is fairly monster of the week, but as it goes it deals with character relationships and emotional development in-between fighting the weekly bad guy.

It's worth watching just for Dove Cameron, and the fact the show has 2 Dove Camerons by technicality (since it's about twins, she plays both twins obviously)

Do you mean her performance as an actress? Because if it's only for the beauty, that wouldn't be a reason to watch it.

You know, there are many beauty people that are pretty terrible in acting, at least in my opinion. Not saying about Dove Cameron (I would need to see her in action first), but you get the idea...

I really don't want to post any spoilers, but I want to post one of best scenes ever. (As much as I want to prove it's a good show, the particular scene I want to show will ruin a lot of the show )


Like seriously, there is this one scene with Ryan Mccartan that makes it hard to not cry afterwords.


I will just say this, for a Disney Sitcom the show is amazing (although I feel like what I've seen of Season 4 feels kinda meh. Haven't kept up with it because I find the new characters in season 4 just are lame)
and it will rip your heart into 10 million pieces when the emotional parts come out.

I'm pretty sure this is one case where only you give enough of a **** about the show to worry about spoilers. Everything I've seen about it is really meh. Dove Cameron wouldn't even save it for me as while sure she's kinda pretty, I haven't really cared for any of the roles she's played. Not necessarily her fault, but I don't much care for the characters.

And maybe I'm just cold-hearted like that, but I rarely cry or anything at parts of shows/movies that are supposed to be emotional and people say you'll cry at. Only things that come to mind that got me were Zack's death in Crisis Core and Terra's death in the original Teen Titans cartoon.
