At Activision's own fault no less. Imaginators has the best or second-best gameplay of the series to most people(not counting balance), but because it's another year AND hot off the grills of Superchargers which did badly, it managed to sell even less than that. It wasn't people hating the game, or some controversy, or the game itself being unfinished/buggy. Nope, just Acti destroying marketing and thinking people would give in to another 30 expensive toys+gimmick.

But no, really, it's up to Dark no matter what happens. Infinity Guru had no other place to go so it had to be shut down, but he can still pick up other franchises he's into and merge here.

I don't want to sound selfish, but I hope it's not a series I don't play enough to discuss and things like that.

Also, I don't feel like mixing random franchises is the best idea. I mean, if it's something that fits, like Crash, no problem, but...

You'd have to ask the guy himself. I think he mentioned other series in the Skycast last year but nothing that doesn't have a dozen forums already iirc.

I don't even go on this website for Skylanders really, I go on it more for the general forums and interaction with other people.

I'm not saying the site is going to immediately die once Skylanders ends, but the issue is, we found out that those 3 years were actually SSA's development time. If Acti gets the idea that they can't make the IP work, we'll get a Crash-sized hiatus or worse.
Especially since Skylanders' marketing bred impatience and demands from the younger fans, so if they'd rather leave than sit and discuss.

you realize most of S&N are people who don't like skylanders?
and even if they weren't, people wouldnt leave cuz skylanders ended lmao, why would the end of a franchise determine why people who come here for fun and to talk to friends all leave

Jared Pullen's art direction is amazing even if he was a game generation too early to translate it well, and some of the lore he left in his concept art was great and building up to something amazing(dunno if it was actually planned, but apparently Malefor's motives would be explained with the force behind his powers, some stuff with Spyro's parents, etc etc). When Étranges Libellules put their hands on it and just half assed everything, though...

Heck, in one of the interviews he gave, they weren't really going to do Spyro x Cynder, it was just from the fans. Cynder's purpose all in all was to be Spyro's opposite for the story, not opposites attract. What I wouldn't give to look into the timeline where The Darkest Hour was the third game...

In all honesty? Yes, I'd live in a world where Hex never existed if The Darkest Hour was a great game ending the trilogy in a high note(maybe even taking Spyro in a good direction) instead of DOTD's shoddy GoW inspired clichefest.

Promise, Lunarz, I never said they were good games. Well, I love the second, but I do have to admit a lot of it is nostalgia since I'll only be able to replay TEN in a month or so. Even A New Beginning though, I sat through the hallways and mashy combat to see the amazing locales. Tall Plains and Concurrent Skies still have a special place in my heart, especially after seeing Jared's concepts of these levels(they used to be in a dropbox folder, but last time I checked all gone except what I saved :c).

I liked DotD, maybe because it was the only one I've played. I never cared for the plot because I didn't understood one single word. And I guess the bugs could be worse. Today I casually laugh at this gem.

Cynder's last voice actor really managed to drive her character off the cliff. In ANB she was mostly silent but made an impact when she spoke, TEN she was a bit rebellious but still convincing,but in DOTD she was just whiny and tomboyish love interest 101.

I actually enjoyed the whole of the Legend series. Yes, even more than the classics. I have never really disliked anything in it overall, only some aspects of the fandom. I'm still extremely involved with The Legend series more than any other fandom I'm in, but sometimes it feels like I shouldn't due to the reception. I just can't help but enjoy all three games even today, but that doesn't mean I don't have problems with the story and gameplay. It still holds a very special place in my heart today.
