Pretty sure he's winning popular vote as well so it wouldn't make a difference. Though agreed, EC belongs back when it was actually useful, in the 1800s.

EC is controlled a good deal by the public vote.

Also every place has different results but for the most part a Trump lead.

Alright, I think it's pretty much 100% certain now. Donald Trump is going to be the next President of the United States.

Regardless of people's worries about Trump, it's very heartening to see that democracy still works in the USA. Most of the elite (and as such, the mainstream media) were against him all the way. First they laughed and underestimated him, then they tried to manipulate the public opinion. They called him an idiot, Hitler, a rapist, a sexist, a racist, etc. but they couldn't stop all the determined voters who found something to agree with in his message and wanted him to make it.

Nobody can complain now that the general voting system is rigged, because otherwise Clinton would've walked away with this.
The DNC was able to manipulate things in favor of Clinton against Sanders, but they don't have power over the entire nation.

Well my family was going to move to another country if this happened, and I have only 3 months to learn the language before I would have to go to school there. I'd never have time to do anything ever again, and my family would be struggling to pay our bills since the cost of living is more expensive. So yes, my entire future looks ruined, but it's nice to know I'm not allowed to panic right now.

(I'm highly emotional right now so I know in the morning I'll regret saying this, so I hope I didn't just cause a ****storm just saying this.)

Trump has 269 to Clinton's 218. The best possible case is that Clinton wins everything from here, and even then you would get a 269 tie, in which case the Republican controlled House of Representatives gets to be tiebreaker.

No matter how you slice or dice it or look at the number or shift them around, Donald J. Trump is going to be your President of the United States.

That's nice, but we have family over there who are prepared to let us live with them while we look for a place, and have been actively trying to sell things we don't need to bring over there so we can make as much money as possible before we get there. It just doesn't happen that my dad decides that "oh, if Trump wins, we're moving to somewhere in Europe." He's planned this for quite some time and has thighs it through, it's not just a spur of the moment thing.

But he has legitimately said that "we have to see Bill Gates and a lot of different people that really understand what's happening. We have to talk to them about, maybe in certain areas, closing that Internet up in some way."
