I'm considering hosting one, but I understand that it's been a long long while and some people may have...problems with me being the host. So, that being said, if I were to step up to the plate and host Survivor darkSpyro XII, how many of you guys would be interested in partcipating?

And for those of you not in the know it's basically survivor the tv show but trivia instead of challenges and the show is woven into a storyline and it's pretty cool.

And, as graciously granted by Seiki, here's all 11 other survivor seasons if you wanna take a looksie.

Seasons 1-9
Season 10
Incomplete Season 11

I'll have to look through the rules and such again but as for now, count me in.

I'm not joining as yeah... sorry man, not sure I entirely trust you as host. Not sure you're ready for what you'd be getting into much less capable of running as an unbiased third party. I also hardly have the time to participate with school. If you actually do go through with this, I will be watching however.

Maybe get a reputable co-host if you want to host the game? On the ToS forums, Mafia games with co-hosts have had people operating the game at the same time. Like one does flavor and keeps tabs on the game whilst the other manages the game(like getting questions, results in Survivor etc). Maybe it would be better then. Plus, I still want to play another Survivor game so I'll just keep my eyes peeled for it in the meantime.

I was allowed to host (for one singular phase lol) and I was not partial at all. If you think there should be two hosts, then fine. But if not, that's cool too. Idk TC in the first place.

I will say that no matter what there should be like a max of 12~14 players anyway. Harken back to the early days and what-not. I don't know how it progressed but maybe a reboot or something? I hear tell that there's a lot of plot.

HIR was able to handle large scale games like closer to 20+ players, but it's more a matter of host preference.

As for plot, that was based on individual hosts work. HIR kinda did his own thing which after awhile seemed to be separate stories and not connected. Mine were canon within themselves and produced a storyline that admittedly remains incomplete with one entry left. Morris had his own thing that I'm not sure if it acted canon with anything else.

I remember when I hosted.

If I were you, I'd ditch the number and start fresh.

Also, I too remember the season where I hosted for maybe 13 hours before my account got broken into and I got Gnorc'd.

Or just not use the "Survivor" monicker period because the two main developers of the game stated that they preferred you didn't. Y'know, make it a spiritual successor or whatever. >.>

Alright then. If you are going to go through with I would like to leave some advice to try to ensure things go as well as they can....

You will need the following:
-A minimum of 12-14 players (more the merrier though), you will also need enough people with interest to have alternates in case anyone drops out or anything. I guarantee 1 person likely will quit at some point and a good 1/4th of your Players will be inactive.
-A plot for your flavor text. While flavor text isn't entirely necessary, it keeps things interesting.
-Overall plans for the course of the game. Will there be teams? How many teams? When will they dissolve? Will they dissolve? How will these teams work? How many rounds will this go?
-Abilities or reward items of some form. Once again, not a requirement, but keeps things fun and interesting.
-A variety of questions on different subjects. Obvious, but still saying it. Going to need to cover several subject types as not everyone knows the same thing. Will need to plan these in advance or be capable of making them on the spot, which is honestly hard. Research topics if you have to. Also don't be afraid to ask for help with them from someone who isn't playing for subjects you don't personally know.
-Challenges for each round. Some form of mini-game with each round to give the simple Question and Answer game a bit extra of a challenge and keeps things interesting.
-You should get your inbox as empty as possible before you begin.
-Lots of time. Like, just have no life outside of school.
-Be able to admit you're wrong. Don't be afraid to google player's wrong answers in case you missed something and there is another right answer than what you have.
-Don't let personal feelings get involved. Just because you don't like someone doesn't mean you can deny them from playing or rig the game to make them lose. Likewise, if a friend gets eliminated, you can't try to save them.
-Plans for what to do for in the events of ties (HIR enjoys RNG to solve them, I typically use bonus questions). Referring back to the above, you'll need something impartial that you don't have direct control over and everyone can trust.
-HIR will want credit in the post-game credits and for any specific points of the game he originally introduced. It is in your best interest to give it to him.

They're less rules and more suggestions. Seiki and Morris never needed to run things like I did... it just kind of happened that way. Oh, and the games expanded significantly after you disappeared into the ether.

The last one, however, is important. As if HCI takes gameplay elements and ideas that I came up with for the game and opts not to credit me, that's plagiarism. >.>

I actually didn't disappear into the ether, what had happened was

1. I made an account with a hotmail email or whatever, so it had trouble validating
2. since I was literally 12, I made a new email account without getting permission so I was banned from the internet for like two months. luckily, that meant that when X/Y released I knew literally none of the Pokémon revealed, and in fact I used that time to play through all of Suikoden II
3. Afterwards, I relocated to SerenesForest, though I have a bad reputation there for forcing my views on people about how they should feel about the LGBT community, to the point of harassment. That's actually why I randomly decided to come back after literally four years

I'm currently in that "dye my hair, become an activist, be a Liberal Arts major, fall in love, try to find a sweet guy who will help me pick up the pieces" phase of my life

idk why I provided my life story but I felt some form of explanation was in order

Like HIR said, it isn't rules, more suggestions. I expect something to go wrong somewhere, so I'm giving HCI some tips to minimize that chance as much as possible and help him get an idea of what he needs to think about and plan for if he is going to host a season of survivor. Even if called something different and run a little differently, it's still just some things to take into consideration.

I wanted to play but I also technically count as one of the architects so you could at least have my approval

I also highly doubt it will be a train wreck, but train wrecks are fun anyway
